What better way to start than by highlighting the hint of actual canon gay relationship in Star Driver? Not that it was explicitly stated of course, but considering the plot point where this was brought up, it was obviously hinted that Tsunashi Tokio was in a relationship with Makiba Shingo. Look at the way they’re draped over one another.

Tsunashi Tokio, an outsider who was born into a family with a Mark, but was rejected from being granted the Mark by his father, who sees what others can’t, but he is unable to differentiate between love and obsession. Makiba Shingo is one of his obsessions—as stated by Sora, who was Tokio’s previous love-slash-obsession—the one who promised he’d give Tokio his Mark, as well as his Cybody. In the flashback in this episode, it was shown how Tokio slowly withdrew from Sora and Ryousuke, deeper into his obsession with Marks, Cybodies and, later on, Shingo. Shingo’s first appearance was before Ryousuke, agreeing that he’d give Tokio his mark, to which Tokio responded by pulling Shingo into his arms and affectionately led a happily blushing Shingo away. True to its nature of “trio relationship”, this episode also gives us a conversation between Ryousuke and Sora later on, about how Tokio had a new obsession now. Ryousuke admitted that he loves Tokio’s paintings—or rather, he loved the Tokio who paints. Sora left the island, and later gave birth to Takuto, while Ryousuke stayed back by Tokio’s side, until the very end.

Sugata and Takuto are more than just best friends—they’re also classmates, partners, house-owner and freeloader, and, somehow, kendo master and student. Not that Takuto is lacking in his dual-swordsmanship skills, but Sugata is also the only heir of the Shindou-style and is a master swordsman capable of defeating both Benio and Takuto multiple times. This particular relationship dated back to episode 13—where Sugata unrepentantly named Takuto his ‘apprentice’ and told Benio to fight Takuto first before he’d accept her challenge. What started as faux master-student relationship turns into actual master-student relationship—in future episodes, we were given scenes of Sugata and Takuto training their swordsmanship skills, with Sugata giving instructions and Takuto obeying his orders.

Of note would be episode 18, though, where they were having a match at the beach, and Kei Madoka interfered with her first phase, surrounding them both in darkness and making them see one another as Window Star. Sugata recognized that it was Takuto from his stance, but that’s not the only thing—he even put his own life on the line to protect Takuto there by performing the King’s Pillar, which later put him into a deep slumber, again, without Takuto knowing it. Madoka herself commented on how impressive she found his courage on doing that.

It’s Wako’s birthday! Being the trio that they are, what better way to spend Wako’s birthday than going on a date—all three of them? Not only we get to see cute trio shenanigans, there are also tiny moments of Sugata and Takuto scattered all over the episode, making it triple the cute. Wako’s birthday begins with the boys sitting her down in the kitchen while they both donned aprons to cook curry rice for her. Domestic Sugata and Takuto in the kitchen abound—from light talks about whether or not Takuto had ever been in a romantic relationship before, Sugata crying over cutting onions, and Takuto sneaking pictures of Sugata crying with a camera he borrowed, then proceeding to coo over pictures of Sugata he managed to snap while he’s freeloading in the Shindou residence with Wako. The one happy wasn’t just Wako who’s living the dream of being pampered by two gorgeous boys, but also the boys themselves; look at how they steal glances at each other and smile!

As Wako ate her fourth plate of curry rice, Takuto gave her his prized pocket watch and Sugata’s knife, giving words to what Sugata hasn’t been able to express since he was a child: his determination to protect Wako. To this, Sugata could only smile fondly at Takuto, acknowledging the affection shown. The three then went on a date around the town: taking purikura, going to the movies, sharing a drink together, walk on the beach, and finally, to the karaoke place! Which also brings us to our next selection:

This scene is brief, obviously intended as pure fanservice for the Sugata/Takuto fans, but it’s pretty satisfying in itself! Having spent the whole day together, the trio went into the karaoke place and let Wako let loose her inner-idol dream. The karaoke place just happened to be owned by the Nichi family—where Nichi Keito works part-time (and Takuto, also, but that doesn’t matter for now), and with the odds, of course it’s Keito who brought them the drinks they ordered. Wako slipped out to talk to Keito once her once-best friend left, leaving Sugata and Takuto alone in the room. And no, nothing happened. But meanwhile, Atari Kou and Kei Madoka decided to mess with Kou’s first phase, which enabled the two girls to snatch Takuto and Sugata’s bodies. Both Sugata and Takuto, completely at ease with one another and therefore didn’t have their guards up, were easy targets to play with. Kou took Sugata’s body while Madoka took Takuto’s, and the two girls marveled in amusement over being in male bodies for the first time, leaning close towards each other over the table in the same flirty manner they have always been.

Sadly, it doesn’t last long. Kou, in Sugata’s body, proceeded to try flirting with Keito, while Madoka, in Takuto’s body, tried to mess with Wako. They both failed, and in the end, both Kou and Madoka decided to leave Sugata and Takuto’s bodies on the roof, leaning back-to-back, unconscious until Wako found them.

From the early episodes, it was pointed very clearly what fate Sugata holds for himself: as the Driver of Samekh, the King of Cybodies, he has a power stronger than anything else in his hands. Except once he apprivoised and activate his first phase, Sugata would fall into a deep slumber and never wake up. Sugata did apprivoise—much to Wako and Takuto’s dismay. But then Zero Time happened and a sleeping Sugata was also summoned into Zero Time, completely defenseless. For the first time, Takuto desperately fought not only to protect Wako, but also Sugata who can’t defend himself even when the enemy rushed towards him. Takuto dived and managed to envelop Sugata into the palms of Tauburn, at the second which, much to everyone’s surprise, Sugata blinked awake. Zero Time ended, and both Takuto and Wako rushed back to the Shindou residence to find Sugata missing. Another flash of King’s Pillar helped them locate Sugata—Takuto arrived first, seeing Sugata half-conscious, surrounded by the Filament group from Glittering Crux. As Scarlett Kiss moved to kiss Sugata, Takuto desperately struggled against both Raging Bull and Speed Kid, managing to throw them both away in the end even though Scarlett Kiss already stole the kiss. Panicking, Takuto reached out and grabbed Sugata’s shoulders, screaming Sugata’s name to try and wake him up.

As a last resort, Takuto slapped him hard—which miraculously worked, bringing Sugata back into complete awareness. With the threat of another King’s Pillar, the Filaments retreated, and Wako arrived at the scene to find a relieved Takuto and Sugata—who now looked simply dangerous as he threatened to kill Takuto if Takuto ever hit him again.

The previous episode might have ended with a strained tension in the three main characters’ relationship, but it isn’t quite a stretch if we dubbed this episode a Sugata-and-Takuto episode, considering it highlighted their relationship and how Sugata and Takuto see each other, as well as what Wako means for them. Long story short, this episode saw Sugata giving both Wako and Takuto a cold shoulder, an obvious attempt to distance himself from the both of them. Takuto being Takuto, of course, confronted him on this, and when they were both ready to fight it out, Zero Time froze their worlds and pulled them into the sealed Cybody dimension. Scarlett Kiss attempted to use Sugata as some sort of libido battery, except Sugata’s power proved too much for her to control, and Sugata ended up controlling her Cybody to dish it out with Takuto. The fight was brutal, but also intimate—as Wako remarked in confusion, they were both laughing as they fought, bare-handed. Scarlett Kiss’ Cybody was destroyed in the fight, as it was unable to contain Sugata’s power, and once the fight ended—dramatically, with an extreme version of fistbump—Zero Time disappeared, returning all of them to their world and time, where Sugata and Takuto faced each other, framed by the gorgeous sunset, panting from the exertion of the fight… for a full forty seconds.

No one thinks the forty seconds panting scene is necessary, but hey, it’s Star Driver. Just make sure you have your earphones plugged in for this episode—passersby might misunderstand about what exactly is it that you’re watching, thanks to Miyano Mamoru and Fukuyama Jun’s forty seconds of heavy breathing.

Nothing beats the conclusion of best friends’ (or is it boyfriends?) fights like going in the bath together. Which was exactly what Takuto and Sugata did—the next episode opened with the both of them relaxing in the spacious bath of the Shindou residence, soaking side by side as Takuto marveled on having hot bath.

What are you talking about, Takuto was totally not sneaking glances and checking Sugata out as he bared his neck. This isn’t the only time the two of them get in the bath together, by the way—and every time, whenever either Tiger and Jaguar called out from outside offering to wash their backs, Sugata would refuse and wave them away. A spacious bath with just the two of them—well, we might as well follow Wako’s example and imagine the rest!

There’s a reason why Wako is the best girl in Star Driver: she’s Sugata’s fiancée, she’s a maiden, she could be fierce when she wanted to be, she loved her boys the same, and most importantly, she’s one of us. One of us? Yes, definitely one of us. As the leader of the Night Flight drama club, Endou Sarina, announced that she was going to put a kissing scene in their newest play, Wako’s first reaction was to look at Sugata, then Takuto, and then let her imagination run wild: a kissing scene between Sugata and Takuto?!

Yes, Wako’s imagination was pretty great—pretty detailed, complete with the dialogues she thought up, leaving her flushing beet red to the roots of her hair, even more so when Jaguar sent her a thumbs up for her imagination. Can’t really blame her now, can we? Interestingly enough, when a Star Driver collaboration café opened up in Japan several years ago, one of the dessert menu you could get was named Wako’s Fantasy, and if you ordered that, it came with a free card of this almost-kissing scene!

The almost-kissing fantasy was not Wako’s first fantasy over Sugata and Takuto, though. As early as episode four, we were treated to Wako’s first fantasy—a bit wilder than the previous one, honestly, considering all Sarina said was that the drama club would be pushing all the magnetism they can get out of two pretty boys as Sugata and Takuto. And what Wako imagined, in a scene framed with roses and all-tinted pink, was Sugata pushing Takuto on a bed, both naked, only covered by the strategically-placed roses.

“But Sugata, we’re just friends,” Takuto said, to which Sugata replied, “Just until today.” No wonder Jaguar gave Wako a thumbs up. Not to mention that in Star Driver: The Movie, Wako’s Fantasy evolved into a more detailed version of the morning after scene. The joke that Wako’s Y-shaped maiden Mark stands for ‘Yaoi’ has never been more apt. Thanks, Wako.

If we have to explain the relationship between Sugata, Takuto and Wako, the easiest way would be this: Sugata is the King, Wako the Princess, and Takuto is their Knight. In the surface, their relationship might seem like your ordinary triangle love cliché, but the last episode would banish that notion completely. As a Knight, Takuto did not only put his life on the line for the Princess and the King, but also the entire world. Finding out that Sugata had betrayed them and joined the Glittering Crux Brigade, Takuto and Wako faced off against the whole brigade as the third seal of Zero Time was broken and Samekh rose from its slumber. Just as Sugata, its rightful Driver, apprivoised and got into Samekh, Tokio used Sinpathy to take complete control of both Sugata and Samekh, revealing his grand plan to release Samekh from Zero Time, letting it consume all the libido in the world and wipe out humanity in order to use Samekh’s fifth phase ability to manipulate time at will. Takuto attacked Tokio, demanding him to give Sugata back, and the rest of the Glittering Crux members align themselves with Takuto after hearing Tokio’s scheme revealed, and the fight against Sinpathy-controlled Samekh began. It took everything they had to defeat Tokio, but it wasn’t a happy ending Takuto was heading to. Instead, he and Wako had to watch as it was revealed that Sugata had intended to sacrifice himself to send Samekh back to sleep, sealing himself with Samekh. Realizing this, Takuto recalled Sugata’s words—about how good Sugata was in playing the roles he was given, and how he wanted Takuto to protect Wako. To Takuto, of course, this was unacceptable. Having lost a best friend before, he was not about to let himself lose another important person. So right then and there, he turned to Wako and made the decision: to break the last seal that Wako held and cancelled Samekh’s seal, consequently breaking Zero Time and risking the entire world by letting Samekh out, in order to try and save Sugata. The Knight risked the whole world to get his King back. Tauburn chased Samekh up to the space, managing to destroy Samekh and saved Sugata, who woke up to Takuto smiling at him and a gorgeous starry sky all around him.

It’s just like Star Driver to end it with a bang. Like that’s not romantic enough, Takuto told Sugata that they’d see a more amazing sky from now on, and the anime closed with the two staring at the horizon where the sun began to rise.

Starting off the list is Ito Hikiotani from the anime Punch Line. In the first episode, the spirit of Yuta was in search for this ritual book to reunite his spirit and his body. He was told that the book was somewhere in the house he is living in. Easy enough right? Well the first thing he found was Ito, and with that came a glimpse of her wonderful striped panties. Needless to say he got more than he bargained for. That partnered with another panty shot shortly after, set the rules for the anime in the scene that followed. Ito is a blonde haired shut-in who tends to avoid people as best as she can. All she was looking for was some shampoo. However in this situation, it couldn’t be helped. Who’s to know that a spirit is watching her stretch? Luckily for Yuta, Ito wasn’t aware of his presence. I think it’s safe to say things would have ended up a little differently, had he not been a spirit. What makes this unique is that he didn’t have any backlash from Ito, due to him being invisible to her. However, there was a negative impact that he certainly felt shortly thereafter.

The next one on our list is a rather peculiar inclusion. Rikantz Seaberry or better known as “Ritz” in the series Daimidaler: Prince vs. Penguin is a very passionate and loving female to the penguin empire. When she found out that they were doing battle with the Robo Daimidaler in episode three, she wanted quick entry into the penguin fold. She has a lot to offer, including kindness and loyalty. On that note, what did Ritz have to do to get what she wanted? Well, I’m glad you asked. She had to go through what was known as a “penguin exam” to appease her own goals. Before the penguin exam took place, the empire needed to take “important” information from her. So they quickly undressed her with little to no resistance from Ritz. They compiled her body measurements and left her in those lovely pale blue panties. Barely even fazed at what just transpired, she got dressed back up and was ready for her exam. There is one task she was ordered to do, and that was to defeat one of their own kind. Her love for the penguin empire escalates even further as the series unfolds. There aren’t any females on this list that had penguins caress them and expose their panties for their “research”. It’s a unique situation to say the least, so with that, we feel it should get a spot on this list.

Well here we are at number eight and you had to know that someone from High School DxD was going to make this list. In this case it happens to be the sweet and innocent Asia Argento. We’re going all the way back to the first season and episode two, where the main perv, uh, protagonist Issei Hyoudou meets Asia. After a late night out doing his devil duties, Issei wakes up the next day and heads to school only to find a female in religious garb, face-down on the ground. Issei of course, opts to ogle at her greatly detailed rear-end, instead of try to help her up. After an awkward introduction, he finds out her name is Asia Argento. With this anime giving us so many glorious panty shots, it was hard to nail down one that we thought was really important. However, we felt that the debut to Asia in the series mixed with Issei’s reaction was enough to put this on our list.

We get introduced to a high-spirited and cute, Kotori Itsuka, just minutes into the first episode. She is seen dancing in her older brother’s room, having a blast. It’s clear her intentions are to give Shidou Itsuka one heck of a wake-up call. It was then; the way Kotori chose to get him up that left an impact on us. We’ll guide you through this. Kotori proceeds to jump up and down on his bed, before jumping in the air with some bad intentions. We as the audience, quickly forget what her true intentions are when her pink and white striped panties are flashed in mid-air. They were shown elegantly in slow motion, so the viewers had ample time to catch more than just a glimpse. Then before we know it, her endgame appears and she sends her one foot into his stomach. Her skirt blissfully soaring in the air was a treat for us fans, but not so much for Shidou Itsuka. What a way to wake up! Somehow he managed to go back to sleep before getting up on his own, after scaring Kotori away.

Episode eight brings us, an extreme example at what can happen at school when you’re lending a helping hand. Hinata Hino was in class and she overheard someone talking down to Yukiteru Amano, the main character of the series, who had recently just transferred to a new school. Hinata smacked the bully with a notebook and it knocked Yukiteru, of all people to the ground. She outstretched her hand to help him up, and sure enough, he reached out and fell forward and tugged down Hinata’s shorts. The consequences of that mix up revealed her adorable green and white striped panties to the whole classroom. Suffice it to say, Hinata wasn’t very pleased with Yukiteru’s mishap and she slapped him with her notebook before the teacher came in. We selected this particular panty shot at the number six slot, because of strictly the design and situation. Not only does the panty shot show off a cute little ribbon on the front, but you can also imagine how embarrassed Hinata must have been. What an unenviable situation, having her fellow classmates gawk at her panties. This one takes the cake for being the most embarrassing reveal on this list.

Here we are at the mid-way point, and we’ve come to our first OVA on the list. If you’re a fan of The Testament of Sister New Devil series, then you will enjoy this raunchy OVA. As if the series wasn’t already chock full of fan service, the OVA takes it up a notch. Around the eight minute mark, the main protagonist Basara Toujou sits down to enjoy a home-cooked soup from succubus Maria Naruse. After biting into his soup, Basara, happens to notice something rather odd and stretchy. What did he find? Well Mio Naruse’s panties! The childhood friend of Basara, Yuki Nonaka, comes out to the dining room and gets the impression from Maria that he enjoys to eat panties. Not to be outdone, Yuki proceeds to take off her blue and white panties right in front of the two and offer them to Basara to eat. Of course he doesn’t eat them, but the fact that Yuki would even consider offering them up for him to eat is on a whole new level for this list. I don’t think I need to say why we found this memorable, the proof is in the panty, uh, pudding.

This one has some similarities to our number six selection, in regards to the setting. The reason this one is rated at number four, is simply because of two reasons, number one Sohara Mitsuki and Tomoki Sakurai are childhood friends. That can be a recipe for disaster to have a childhood friend, like Tomoki, get a solid peep at her panties. At the same time, it can make things more intimate. The second reason is because Sohara was dawning one of, if not, the cutest panties on this list. I’ll set the stage for you. The end of class came and Sohara walked over to give Tomoki his lunch that she made for him. They were the last few in the classroom, and on their way out, Sohara, tripped and fell face first on the ground. While vulnerable and shocked, Tomoki was greeted with a panty shot of his voluptuous childhood friend. Sohara had an adorable teddy bear on her white panties. She was fortunate enough not have the entire class around her when this happened on episode two of this series. It would not be the last time Tomoki would see Sohara’s panties, but we felt those panties were too lovely to pass up.

Ahh yes, Dragon Ball, what a classic and by far the oldest anime on the list, with good reason. In episode fifty, the group of Krillin, Goku and of course Bulma, are exploring an underwater cave, in search for a dragon ball. On their path to finding the treasure, they come across numerous booby-traps. The one that stood out to us was the lava pit. Upon falling, the main protagonist Goku, uses his power pole to save himself and his friends from the lava that they were merely inches from touching. So much so, Bulma ended up getting her strawberry designed panties burned. Once she reaches the ground safely, she is sure to let the boys know how close she was to death. This isn’t the only panty shot that we receive from Bulma throughout the series, but this one was chosen carefully due to the implications of what followed shortly after their adventure in that cave. Even after roughly thirty years, this still has a place in some of our hearts. It’s especially humorous that a hot-head like Bulma, literally and figuratively gets burned.

Coming in at number two is an OVA series that is synonymous for their obligatory panty shots. It’s rare to see an anime go through so much trouble to find ways for females to expose their panties. I suppose, giving the entire female cast short skirts and action scenes, is a start. Why not have them fall over in compromising positions, like face first with their butt in the air? You got it! That’s AIKa R-16: Virgin Mission in a nutshell. If you like panty shots, this is arguable the king of panty shots. Eri Shinkai is one of the three main protagonists in this series, along with Karen Minamino and the titular character Aika Sumeragi. In this particular scene of episode one, we have Eri and Aika under attack by several females that were on the yacht with them. After a large fight breaks out in Eri’s room, involving tranquilizer darts. Aika, with a little bit of help from Eri, dispatch the threat and to their surprise they find some sort of device near the attackers tailbone. Of course, the way they noticed this, was that one of the girls was passed out hanging over the side of the couch. The entire scene had Eri, fight/hide in her lingerie, which included a lovely red and black lace underwear.

Congratulations, we’ve made it to number one! I don’t think this one is too shocking for some people out there. The reasoning for this to be our number one selection is for many reasons. The first reason is because, well, it’s the only one on the list that exploits a thong. Another reason is because; she is fighting zombies with an apron on and a thong underneath. Saeko brings bloodshed, a sword, an apron and a thong, what a combination in this episode. Did I mention a thong? High School of the Dead is one of the only ones on this list that the female is comfortable with her panties revealed the way they are. Not only does Saeko rock that look, but she looks great mutilating zombies as well. This takes place in episode seven, when the group of survivors spots a little girl named Alice Maresato and her little dog in the distance. They move out to go save her from the horde of impending death, better known as zombies. Saeko proves that you can be sexual, but deliver an intimidating performance that is more than capable.

As per the title, the slice-of-life OreImo is all about Kousaka Kyousuke’s cute imouto (little sister), who on the outside is average but is also a model; however, she’s hiding a pretty serious ero-ge (erotic games) obsession with a particular taste for “little sister” storylines. Who doesn’t love a cute little sister? Still, we don’t take it as far as Kirino, who just can’t get enough of the cutesy goodness. It’s a comedic little tale of a brother trying to help his little sister with her little sister complex, and by “help” we mean “nurture.” Just in case you didn’t know this show would be all about sister complexes, suddenly we see a SisterMart, an obvious reworking of FamilyMart, a famous convenience store chain that originated in Japan. This particular SisterMart is the setting of an ecchi-ful scene when Kirino drenches herself with water for reasons. Blatantly with the exact same colors, and characteristically missing a space between “Sister” and “Mart,” this parody store drives in the fact that this show is about a sister and sister complexes. We’ve already written “sister” so much that it’s starting to feel like it’s spelled wrong or something, so we’re going to stop.

In Bakuman, our protagonist duo Mashiro Moritaka and Takagi Akito are fearlessly trying to make a popular manga that can become the pillar of Shonen Jack, which would be Shonen Jump in real life. The re-naming doesn’t end there. Shonen Jack manga writers would occasionally meet their editors at the nearby Gonythan’s for a change of pace. If you were watching and thought, “Oh man, that looks a lot like a Denny’s,” you wouldn’t be far off. Gonythan’s of Bakuman is a purposeful misspelling of Jonathan’s, a chain of “family restaurants” in Japan, largely modeled after similar family establishments in America, such as the lovely diner Denny’s. Denny’s also exists in Japan in a similar capacity and can sometimes be found in anime as Benny’s (To-Love Ru) or Danny’s (Date A Live). Family restaurants are popular for having a wide variety of western, Japanese, and fusion food, along with an assortment of beverages and desserts, so you’ll be sure to see a lot of these types of establishments in anime.

Space Dandy might be a dandy guy in space, but not one episode goes by without our fearless crew taking a pit stop at their favorite Boobies branch to meet their favorite waitress Honey. Dandy and his crew are not-so-great alien hunters, trying to find new alien species to have registered in return for cold hard cash. Beyond that, they are just average guys who enjoy the female physique. It’s easy to say such an obviously name store is blatant fan service, but to their defense, there is an actual chain of “breastaurants” named Hooters, with hundreds of shops worldwide. Whereas these types of real-life eateries will usually employ a double-entendre for their name, Space Dandy parodies such places by calling a duck a duck, or in this case, calling a booby a booby.

From the title alone, you’re probably already thinking, “Story of my life, right?” Compared to the loaded title, our parody store in Yuushibu is a simple and short Reon, or Magic Shop Reon. Even though the demon lord has been defeated, magic is still the main energy source in town, and you can buy all the magic appliances you need at Reon. Raul was a hero-in-training but before he could take a swing at the big guy, the demon lord was defeated. He put his dreams of being a hero behind him and got a real job. In an odd-couple twist, the demon lord’s daughter Fino also finds herself in dire straits, so she takes a job running the register at Reon. Magic Shop Reon has all the necessities from Papasonic washing machines and Zony Magic Vision televisions to light bulbs and disaster supplies, you can get anything and everything. Its real life counterpart would be the similar-sounding Japanese brand Aeon store, which carries everything, similar to Walmart or Sears. The whole series takes place almost entirely inside the store, as our once could-be hero tries his best to guide his cute and devilish kouhai in this ecchi, comedy slice of life.

In today’s digital age, brick and mortar shops aren’t the only ones under the anime name-change attack. In Terror in Resonance, Japan’s police meetings of old talking heads appears utterly useless to the digital-literate terrorist duo. In addition to having to be briefed on technology like Tor routers, the Japanese police force find themselves having to answer fire with fire by using their own live streams. From Twitter to Amazon to things of more illegal nature, Nine and Twelve use a number of online resources that are common of hacking groups like Anonymous. One thing they have most in common with the real Anonymous is that they announced their famous Sphinx riddles using MeTune, an especially YouTube-looking video uploading service. In the first episode of Terror in Resonance, there was no mistake that the “video uploading service” that hosted Sphinx’s first cryptic message was in fact YouTube, complete with logo. Yet, by Episode 3, the YouTube doppelganger had to be changed, probably due to legal backlash. The YouTube logo was replaced by a blue and black logo that reads “MeTune,” but they’re not fooling anybody. Arguably though, it could also be one of the very real YouTube copycat sites, but a copy is still a copy! Finally, in an ironic stroke of brilliance, Nine and Twelve’s voice actors donned the Sphinx masks to present and attempt to solve Mensa riddles in a series of short videos. Yes, you read that correctly: The actual actors behind Nine and Twelve put on Sphinx masks and implore you to solve legitimately difficult riddles. These videos were made under a collaboration of Terror in Resonance and Japan Mensa, you know, the “high IQ society.” Of course, these videos would eventually make their way to YouTube, where they belong.

When people think of a chain coffee shop, they think of Starbucks. The company enjoys constant popularity in Japan, where it’s just as ridiculously expensive as in America. You may have seen parodies of this brand as Moonbucks in The Devil is a Part-Timer, as Starbacchus in Nisekoi, or as Starchild in Ghost in the Shell. Perhaps, as a stab at the chain or its clientele, the brand even shows up as Starjackass in Onegai Twins. Starbucks, true to life, can pop up anywhere in anime. Still, as with most of these parodies, the famous coffee house is most likely to appear in the slice of life genre. When the characters in the mega-hit romantic comedy Toradora! go for a cup of joe, where else could they possibly go but Sudoh-bucks? Our fearless hero Takasu Ryuuji isn’t one to shy away from pointing out the obvious rip-off of the famous brand. In especially meta fashion, Ryuuji ponders, “How is this place not getting sued?” Yes, how are they not getting sued, indeed.

Maid-sama! was the shoujo romantic comedy that trumped all other shoujo romantic comedies during its run on the airwaves; but our favorite heroine Ayuzawa Misaki wouldn’t have had such an interesting life if it weren’t for her super otaku workplace, a lovely and active maid café called Maid Latte. Because Misaki’s part-time job clashes with her image as a tough class president at school, Usui Takumi was very entertained seeing Misaki giving a too cute, “Welcome home, master” to patrons of Maid Latte. Beyond watching a funny budding romance, we get to learn way too much about the ins and outs of a maid café. If you didn’t know, maid cafés are real, and there are a number of popular maid brands in Japan. Maid Latte is modeled after such establishments, although due to the nature of maid cafés, it would be hard to pin it down to just one. They’re usually full of cute girls in maid costumes who, on special occasions, will cosplay according to a theme-of-the-day. Of course, you can find maid cafes in a number of series, including the cat-themed Maid Queen Nyan-nyan in Steins;Gate. Still, Maid-sama really hit the nail hard on the head as far as the type of services you can expect at a real maid café: maids drawing cute things on your food in ketchup or syrup, cutesy catchphrases, and fancy desserts. Oh, there are a lot of frilly maid costumes too, if that’s your cup of tea.

As a quick and easy way to let you know, “Hey, this guy is really American,” Kuroko no Basket has their recently returned power forward Kagami Taiga eating a mountain of burgers at Maji Burger. Here, he runs into his new teammate Kuroko Tetsuya, who likes Maji’s vanilla shakes. The choice of menus is representative of the characters themselves: Kagami is a mountain of muscle. Kuroko is understated and an unpredictable. After the chance meeting at the Maji, the two make the fateful decision to defeat the greatest high school players in the country, the Generation of Miracles, together. Maji Burger, much like Maid Latte, is hard attribute to one specific brand, because most fast food burger joints will generally appear the same. It’s possible the Seirin favorite Maji Burger was modeled after McDonald’s. Look at those fry box designs! It’s not much of a stretch that an American-raised high school student would go to a fast food restaurant and eat way too much. It’s also pretty true that fast food vanilla shakes have a strangely thin but creamy appeal. Maji, however, isn’t getting this ranking so much for its accuracy, but more for its staying power. Be it a very important plot point or good old Seirin comic relief, the scenes that happen at the Maji Burger are the ones that fans won’t ever forget.

The people you meet at your part-time job can be some of the most unique and interesting people you will ever meet. This factoid of life holds true for Umio, who meets a whole bunch of quirky folks at his job at a manga store called Umanohone. Sensei is a doujinshi mangaka who is teased for lacking “girl power.” Fu Girl has an unhealthy obsession with zombies and normally teams up with the big and tough-looking Sommelier, who can choose the perfect manga for anyone with just a look. Overall, working at Umanohone looks like it would be a whole of fun. Guess what? It’s possible, given some special circumstances, but still possible. Umanohone is a parody of the real-life manga store Toranoana, as umanohone means “the horse’s bone,” and Toranoana means “the tiger’s lair” in Japanese. With all the manga books showcased in this anime, otakus can only hope that working at a manga store would be everything Denki-gai promises it to be. While watching anime, like Sakamoto desu ga?, there was probably a time you thought, “What’s up with the WcDonald’s?” That’s not the case for The Devil is a Part-Timer!! It’s MgRonald’s! The demon lord Sadao Maou, in a daring escape from a horrible defeat in his world, somehow ends up in modern-day Tokyo. Unfortunately, in the dimension jump, he lost most of his magical power. With no credentials and desperate for cash, Maou takes a job at the local MgRonald’s. Yes, obviously MgRonald’s is McDonald’s, no question. Unlike other anime though, the fast food parody isn’t just another random meeting spot for people living off allowances. Instead, our protagonist spends every day working hard and becoming a respectable member of the community at MgRonald’s. Their rival company would be none other than Sentucky Fried Chicken. Do I even need to say it? Although the anime didn’t have any real legal connection with McDonald’s, The Devil is a Part-Timer! is good free PR for the global fast food empire. A place that even can help a fallen demon lord get back on his feet, MgRonald’s could be the perfect job for you too!

Let’s kick this list off with an action anime already laced with comedy. Coming in at number ten is Gurren Lagann. The story follows our two heroes, Simon and Kamina. Both lived in an underground village where neither fit in. Until a giant robot known as a Gunman came crashing through their very own roof. With the help of a spunky sniper, Yoko, they have now been freed from their underground world. Now Simon, Kamina, and Yoko live on the surface to fight back against the Gunman and their pilots known as Beastman. In episode twelve, the members of Simon’s team, Dai Gurren, take a day to relax and have fun at a beach. The beach itself has clear water, beautiful white sand, and the nearest clouds are out in the distance leaving them with plenty of sun to take in. While there, Dai Gurren enjoys playing volleyball, and smash the watermelon. To top it off, Simon and his team end their experience with a good old fashioned sea shore barbecue. How else are you suppose to enjoy a trip to the beach? Maybe, spend the rest of the time gawking at the girls in their swimsuits like Kittan and the rest of the clowns from team Dai Gurren. Though when Yoko is getting less attention than Nia she begins to lash out in a fit of jealousy. So, the competition to see who’s better kicks off as Yoko tries to show off her strengths, literally, with some volley ball and smash the watermelon.

High school is one of the craziest points of anyone’s life. This goes double for Rin Tsuchimi who finds himself torn between countless women that want him in our number nine entry, Shuffle!. Now that I think about it, his high school experience isn’t bad. Verbena Academy has allowed gods and demons to join the school after a mysterious gate opened years ago. One day, Rin is given a choice to be king of the gods or the demons by taking on one of the current king’s daughters, Sia or Nerine. Episode nine has Rin and his harem enjoying their summer break at the beach. There’s a few things that put this beach on our list. The male reaction to Sia, Nerine, Asa, and the rest of the girls coming out in their swimsuits was hilarious, and the youngest girl, Primula, goes out and builds sandcastles, that get washed away by the tide. The most important factor is the romantic setting at night. The calm water reflecting the light of a pale white moon as Rin and Sia spend the last few hours together in paradise looking into each other’s eyes under the stars as they lean in for, what would be, their first kiss. And it would have happened if Rin and Sia’s friends weren't peeping on them. Poor Sia can’t catch a break.

The beach can be a magical place for anyone, especially for a powerful mage. Number eight for best anime beach scenes is Fairy Tail. Lucy Heartfilia, an aspiring celestial mage, teams up with Natsu Dragneel when he invites Lucy to join his guild, Fairy Tail. The guild consists of many mages that take on job requests, hone their magic, and enjoy spending time with those they have forged bonds with. Lucy and Natsu, along with Erza, Gray, and Wendy, embark on many adventures that will leave you laughing or crying, sometimes in the same episode. In episode one-hundred and fifty three, Lucy and Natsu head to the beach for some training, along with others from Fairy Tail. This beach has a lot of fun to offer, like building sand castles and laying out to tan. What really sets this beach apart is the theme park complete with roller coasters and a ferris wheel, which adds on to the excitement. Not to mention the awesome beach side hotel where you can kick back and unwind from a full day spent in the sun. Still, Lucy and Natsu’s team still take time to train. Natsu uses the underwater pressure of the ocean to amp up his fire dragon roar. Gray and Juvia use the ocean to focus on control over their magic and the water that surrounds them. Erza takes on sprays from the waves by slashing at water droplets to hone her accuracy, and Lucy uses the peaceful atmosphere to meditate so she can call upon more magic.

When you go to the beach you typically bring your friends, but it doesn’t hurt to have an exorcist in training either. For number seven we give you Blue Exorcist. Rin Okumura is a rebellious teenager who is trying to find his way in life. Too bad his journey leads him to finding out that he is the son of Satan. After turning his father down regarding taking over the human world, Rin decides to become an exorcist to combat Satan’s plans. This is where Rin’s training begins to control his newfound demon powers with the help of his brother, Yukio. Episode seven of Blue Exorcist puts Rin on a “mission” that turns out to be working a barbecue stand at the beach. Anyone would take this mission on. This beach has beautiful, calm waters with wildlife like Seagulls enjoying the sun with everyone else. Here you have tourist attractions like Rin’s barbecue stand on the actual beach along with other attractions like a lighthouse. There’s plenty to enjoy and relax with in this beach scene.

For number six on the list we are going to hit the beach like we are kids again! Up next we have Love, Chunibyo & other Delusions: Heart. The second season to the original Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions has Yuuta and Rikka living together. Yuuta is having to learn how to date a chunni girlfriend while trying to keep their living situation a secret. Things get a little complex when an old friend of Yuuta’s, Sophia, shows up and old feelings begin to come back. This beach scene was really cool because it takes you back to how you would play on the beach as a kid. Having “sword fights” and pranking friends was definitely on the agenda. This beach scene is also good because it’s a bay so the water is calm for tubing, and there’s even a food shack on the beach where Yuuta, Rikka, and their friends hang out. During this scene there was also a love rivalry that escalated to a “magic” fight.

For number five we’ve got Bokurano. Takashi Waku and his 14 campmates are hanging out by the ocean when they find a grotto. In the grotto they find a lot of tech and it’s creator, Kokopelli. Kokopelli convinces the kids that he is developing a video game, and wants Takashi and his friends to test it out. All of them sign a contract to do so except for one. Next thing you know, Takashi and the 14 other kids wake up on the beach and believe their experience to be a dream. The beach in Bokurano, in episode one, is awesome because of it’s natural setting. This beach is virtually untouched by man so the entire scene is natural. So, this beach is hidden from the world and Takashi and his campmates have it all to themselves. What else could a group of kids ask for but to have their own private beach?

Creeping in for number four is none other than Another. Middle schooler Kouichi Sakakibara transfers to class 3-3 at Yomiyama North. While there he finds that there is a dark presence looming over the class. Sakakibara begins to get close to what seems to be the social outcast of the class, Misaki. However, the closer he gets to Misaki the closer Sakakibara gets to knowing exactly what this dark feeling is. Even dark anime can have their bright moments. In episode eight, Sakakibara and his friends spend time at the beach for some fun in the sun. This beach in particular is stunning with the way it’s portrayed. The crystal blue water shimmers in the sunlight, as the thick clouds glide over the horizon. Gentle waves roll in as Sakakibara and Misaki enjoy their time with their friends by swimming, eating watermelon, and playing jokes on each other.

Where’s the best place to take the girl you like? The beach of course! That’s what we plan to do for number three in Nisekoi. Bonyari High School first-year student Raku Ichijou is completely in love with his long time friend Kosaki Onodera. However, he couldn’t get any farther from her when, to stop a war between the Yakuza and the Mob, he gets an arranged marriage to the Mob boss’ daughter, Chitoge Kirisaki. To make things worse Raku and Chitoge can’t stand each other, yet they have to pull off being the “perfect couple” to prevent their families from fighting. Episode eighteen had a lot of good points for being so high up on our top ten. The most notable points are the scene and the mood it sets. You already have a beautiful shimmering sea and golden clouds as the sunsets. When the sun’s down and the moon is high with this beach scene, it may be the perfect opportunity to get closer to the girl you love. Raku took advantage of this and got to sit with Onodera on the pier under the moonlight. Even being with the girl he loves, Raku still finds himself alongside the ocean with Chitoge. This really is a love triangle.

Let’s jump into the future a bit to see what the beach scene will be in a few years. For number two we have Guilty Crown. In the year 2039, Japan has been placed under the rule of the organization GHQ to prevent the spread of the “Apocalypse Virus” that’s plagued the country for ten years. Shuu Ouma is a timid individual that is forced into a life as a “terrorist” when he aids Inori Yuzuriha, a member of the group Funeral Parlor. When Shuu gains the King’s Power, he has to fight against GHQ and begin to find who he truly is. This beach scene, in episode 8, is an incredible set up. You have your own personal beach house on the same beach as a high end resort. Clear blue water and white sand in front of you and there’s not a care in the world. Then to make things better you have the girl of your dreams with you in this setting. This is paradise at it’s finest. Shuu and the members of funeral parlor do take advantage of this scene as a cover up for an operation. See, work can be fun too. Even if it is to break into a top secret GHQ base.

Coming in at number one we finish our list with Expelled from Paradise. When the world as we know it has become uninhabitable where can humanity run? All of life can’t be placed in space with the limited resources the Earth has. So, humanity had it’s mind digitized and lives in a virtual reality within the space station DEVA. When a hacker on Earth threatens this new way of life, it is up to Angela Balzac to protect the current way of life. This movie opens up with a very good beach scene. There’s the main beach with crystal water and bright sunshine. There’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves to the fullest and really brings a piece of mind. What really makes this the best scene is that since this is a virtual world, you have the capability to create your ideal beach scene. The scene is literally what you make it to be, and the opening scene already has an incredible beach. Just imagine the possibilities from there.

Misato Kisaragi is the character in Evangelion that deserves more attention than she gets. Thankfully for the purpose of this list, some of her most defining moments come in an unexpected scene following her emotional distraught late into the series, when we find her laying intimately with Kaji after having been so concerned for Shinji’s well-being. Shinji had just avoided his most dire predicament yet, this time losing his entire physical being after being absorbed into the cockpit of Unit-01 after a battle with an Angel that was only one step away from wiping humanity from the face of this Earth. Misato, who was obviously the most emotionally invested in saving Shinji, chooses to deal with her relief by lying with her old flame Kaji in a brief but intense scene. Misato isn’t a character who lets out her inner self often. As a result, it’s beyond shocking to see her let everything out down to the deepest and darkest corners of her mind without any hesitation; that’s how important Kaji was to her and that’s how much we learn that she relies on him. In an even briefer moment of inaction, we see Kaji casually drop a birth control pill on the dresser as Misato tries to convince him of her terrible personality, but it’s convincing to no one. It’s a farce that is immediately recognisable, but it’s a moment that it becomes possible to recognise the complexity that is Neon Genesis Evangelion as we realise the depth of her character, and the amazing writing of the whole series when we later learn that the pill was really a long awaited opening for Kaji to relay to her the even darker secrets that NERV hid from the world.

Strictly speaking, the now universally infamous toothbrush scene isn’t a sex scene in the literal sense. However, if Studio Shaft’s ridiculous aptitude to visual storytelling makes sure that we recognise every bit of sexual imagery for what it is. Koyomi Araragi and his sisters are close, but his supposed “challenge” raised against the older Karen goes way beyond anything to be expected among siblings. Thinking that he’ll be able to deny her a chance to meet the perverted Kanbaru Suruga, he proposes a competition where he either wins by getting her to give up from the unpleasant sensation of having her teeth brushed by someone else, or he loses if she’s able to tolerate it long enough. Frankly, it takes less than a few seconds for everyone to forget about it having been a competition in a first place. The situation goes from lewd to undeniably sexual when it becomes clear that Karen finds the entire experience a very sensual affair, and the show goes crazy from displacing the pair into the depths of the universe to show the pervertedness of the situation. It’s really something that needs to be seen than described, but do make sure that there are no prying eyes in the room when you do so.

This is the first entry of this list in which a sex scene employed to tie up two characters’ romantic interest in one another and show their progression to the next phase of their relationship is a major part of the series. Incidentally, Yosuga no Sora ends up showing such a scene four times throughout its 12 episode runtime thanks to its series structure. The scene we at Honey’s Anime have chosen is not any of the four, but a scene that is more narratively significant in that it sets off the inner turmoil of half of the main cast, and was used as part of two separate storylines. Haruka and Sora are closer than a typical pair of twins, to the point that from a young age they had already been sexually attracted to one another. However, to the dismay of both, Haruka’s first sexual encounter is not with Sora but with their childhood friend neighbour, Nao. Distraught from her parents’ arguments and the fact that Haruka, her first love, will be leaving her in the near future, Nao makes the mistake of forcing herself onto Haruka physically; making things worse is the fact that Sora had been there watching in secret. As far as consequences go, Nao cuts off whatever chance there is of Haruka and Sora having a normal life and the event, better described as a case of female on male rape, is the beginning of a series of unfortunate events in the twins’ lives. For Nao, it meant years of suppressed guilt.

Going back to the point about how seasoned anime fans tend to never expect any sex scenes even from anime revolving around romance, this is largely due to the story conventions of the shoujo genre. The one exception to this is a 1 episode OVA aptly named, when translated to English, ‘I Love My Sister’. One thing that is very impressive about this anime in general is how well it integrates sexuality in what would otherwise be very typical developments in a shoujo story. Iku, the titular female sister, had her love taken away from her when the anime shows Yori being seduced and having sex with her best friend Tomoka. Even when the pair finally find themselves in each other’s arms (in a love hotel, no less!), the usual dynamic of Yori teasing and comforting Iku remains true. From Iku’s shy nervousness to Yori’s assertiveness to the latter’s clear awareness of the taboo they are committing, this is a sex scene that is multifaceted and engaging.

Immediately follow the shoujo incest oneshot is a one cour-long TV series about Koshiro’s budding love for a high school student who is barely over half his age, who by the end of the first episode is revealed to be his younger sister Nanoka. Separated since their parent’s untimely divorce, their love only continues to grow in between the anxiety they face from social pressures and Koshiro’s persistence sexual frustration. By the last two episodes, Koshiro has finally found it in himself to approach his sister in an emotionally authentic way, going as far as to refuse the advice of his close friends. The climactic sex scene of the penultimate episode is nowhere near like Iku and Yori’s, as any joy we have of the pair being together is twisted by the realistic sense of impending disaster that Koi Kaze emphasises. Even when the scene makes it so clear that the pair are truly in love, the horror in their eyes give the scene a dramatic tension as we can never ignore that their relationship is a mistake.

The third entry to the Kara no Kyoukai seven-part film series makes its way into the second place of our list, not at all for being any more emotionally satisfying than the entries ranked below it. Instead, Kara no Kyoukai: Tsuukaku Zanryuu deserves a high placing for being one of anime’s most brutal and most well-executed rape scenes. Fujino Asagami, the victim of the situation, is a classmate of protagonist Mikiya Kokutou’s younger sister and, as many people in the Kara no Kyoukai world are, a wielder of supernatural abilities. In a truly unfortunate fashion, her parents deemed her powers to be unnecessary and had them sealed through medication, numbing her sense of touch as a side effect. As such, despite being completely helpless against the repeated sexual assault by the local gang, on some level she is so devoid of physical displeasure that it only serves to infuriate them further. Like every other Kara no Kyoukai film, Tsuukaku Zanryuu holds nothing back to bring us out of our comfort zone. The realistic direction of the scene is astounding, from the detail put into the disheveled state of the room and everyone in it to the haunting sound of flesh hitting flesh. Even then, the film refuses to let our distress be the judge when it gradually becomes impossible to distinguish between right and wrong, and bring about the justice that everyone involved deserves.

After Hideaki Anno’s success with the mega-popular Evangelion series, no one could have expected him to adapt a shoujo manga of all things. Anno made sure we wouldn’t regret watching it though, as the show brings with it a lot of the directing genius from Evangelion while also providing the emotional satisfaction that some viewers may have felt is missing. What KareKano does better than almost any entry in this list is build up; from the moment the episode begins to the moment when they give themselves up to each other, the show convinces you that everything is happening as it should. Soichiro, who suffered from an early childhood of mistreatment by his birth parents and his overbearing relatives found it difficult to accept the unconditional love of his current parents. On the other hand, when the person whom he loves unconditionally, namely Yukino, is also doing everything she can to make his life easier, he can’t help but be caught in the moment and want to make her his own. And what a beautiful moment it is. The pair are initially nervous, slightly afraid of taking their relationship to a more intimate level. However, they quickly find ease in one another and the ephemeral happiness they share is immortalised.

Midway through NANA, it became the case that Hachi’s fulfillment came at the cost of Nana’s happiness and the precious friendship that they had developed together. This is underlined and highlighted in episode 34, when we see the clear beginning of Nana’s breakdown from her inability to accept Hachi and Takumi’s unhealthy relationship. Hachi is completely under Takumi’s dominance, uttering no words as Takumi speaks entirely for the pair when relaying to Nana about their decision to marry, and their decision to essentially force Nana from the apartment she and Hachi had become so attached to. Brought into her own room, Takumi forces himself onto her disregarding anything Hachi has to say. This is a sex scene that tells us that whatever feelings are keeping the pair together, love has little to do with it. Nana hears everything as it happens, unable to hide her despair from feeling as though her best friend has betrayed everything their friendship had been about. In a spur of unconscious emotional outbreak and a follow-up attempt to cope, she breaks the strawberry-decorated glasses that symbolised all that was precious between she and Hachi.

In many cases, anime tends to skyrocket the level of drama through the sex scenes. Wolf Children shows that this does not always have to be the case, showing only an instance of an almost poetic instant of physical intimacy that tells us all we need to know. Hana’s relationship with the werewolf is simple and endearing, starting with a fateful meeting in a college class that the latter snuck into despite not being a student. Even though their love was mutual and obvious, it was not until the werewolf reveals his identity that we understand the weight and difficulty of their relationship, and the life that they would have to lead in order to make it work. To the surprise of no one, Hana wholeheartedly accepts the werewolf for everything that he is. In two brief shots of the pair affirming their love, Wolf Children makes a beautiful but fleeting picture of the moment that Hana and the werewolf make the decision to spend the rest of their lives together. There was need for the details to be portrayed, as eroticism had no place in that very moment; the framing of the shot made clear that the focus was on the purity of their relationship. As a result, even though we learn that the time they had together was tragically short, there is no doubt in our minds that the love that tied them together was very real indeed.

Although Yosuga no Sora might have you expect that eroge adaptations are a wealth of dramatic sex scenes, it’s actually rather rare for them to serve as anything more than advertisements with low production values. Thankfully, in the same way of Yosuga no Sora being a high quality adaptation of a decent romance story, White Album 2 brings into anime form a story about young love that is truly deserving of attention. Haruki, Setsuna and Kazusa are brought together in a series of fateful events as a band to perform for in a school festival; in every sense of the word, they wish for the absolute best for one another. However, in the night of the performance, Haruki is put into a position to choose between the two girls and the delicate balance of their relationship is unknowingly ruined forever. At the series’ dramatic conclusion, Haruki finds himself unable to give up on the person who he had always loved, and the two lie together in the long-awaited acknowledgement of their mutual feelings. Tragically, this is a scene that is as much a culmination of the pair’s repression of their feelings as it is a realisation that the final member of their group has been betrayed by the two persons who are most precious to her, and nothing is more sad than understanding that this is the result of all three doing what they felt was best for each other.

Kicking off our top ten anime punches is Accel World, where Haruyuki squares off against Seiji in an intense battle. Words are traded between the two fighters before much of the action starts to explode. We decided to choose this awesome punch because it was a great start for the rest of the incredible punches on our list. Haruyuki has had enough of Seiji's talking and so he charges up his robot suit and makes his way towards Seiji at Mach four speed. In a scream of anger, Haruyuki unleashes a megaton punch that sends Seiji to another universe and changes the color of the moon from a blue to a purple tint, which is evidence of how unbelievably powerful his punch was. We highly suggest checking out Accel World not just for this spectacular punch, but also the wonderful story that comes along with it.

Akame ga Kill makes its way to our number nine spot on the top ten anime punches, and this time we have Tatsumi against Nyau. A lot took place during episode 8 but this fight was definitely one of the finer moments, since it really gave us a glimpse of Tatsumi's true power. The fight started off with the two introducing each other graciously before the true battle ensued. As the battle erupted we could clearly start to see who was ahead in terms of power, and Tatsumi was that very individual. Nyau tried his best to fight back delivering counter attacks to keep Tatsumi at bay, but all it took was a transformation to seal the deal. Nyau and Tatsumi clashed fists just before Tatsumi unleashed a critical punch that sent Nyau flying back and pierced him into the wall covered in blood. Tatsumi ended up winning but lost all of his power shortly after, with his colleagues coming to his aid.

Fairy Tail released during the fall of October 2009 and since then it has grown dramatically in popularity. The series concluded in March of 2013 but it made sure to leave a mark on the anime community with its fun loving characters, and over the top action. One of our favorite punch scenes from Fairy Tail was in episode 115 between Gildarts and Bluenote. While the fight ended quite quickly, the action that took place prior was pure gold. Bluenote was on the edge and Gildarts had all the momentum on his end, and so he took advantage of the situation and connected with a super uppercut that sent Bluenote flying upwards in a spiral motion, leaving everyone speechless including ourselves. The juxtaposition of Gildarts fist with Bluenote's chin was just perfect as it connected with the right amount of power to send him to the next dimension and us to grab a tissue from the tears of laughter. Fairy Tail is a must watch for anyone who loves comedy and action!

Shizuo is the tall, slim, and well dressed quiet hero who wanders around the city of Ikebukuro as a bodyguard for a debt collector. Most of the time he is generally very nondescript in his demeanor until he's provoked, which happened early in episode 3 of the series. Shizuo carries intense animosity towards Izaya who always taunts him knowing that he has a short fuse. In this particular scene Izaya, Shizuo and the rest of the cast are surrounded by the gang known as The Dollars. One of the members randomly loses his cool under fear and charges toward Shizuo with a wooden stick breaking it over his head. Unfortunately for this guy, Shizuo doesn't take kindly to this warm welcome and delivers a punch directly into the face of the goon, knocking off every piece of clothing in mid air and landing naked onto the street. This punch was not only powerful but extremely funny since it was so deadly that it was able to strip off every item of clothing while doing so. If you haven't checked out the Durarara!! series we highly suggest you do so, along with its second season too!

Meliodas was a fan favorite among many anime fan for his big heart and bright personality. His relationship with Elizabeth was entertaining as they seemed like the perfect couple, while Diana looked on with jealousy. In this episode Ban and Meliodas square off in a tournament to retrieve Diana's hammer since it was stolen by the enemy. The two of them have fought before since they've been friends for a very long time, but Ban is aware of Meliodas' true strength. Unfortunately throughout the match Ban seems to forget that and as he is about to unleash his final blow eliminating Meliodas from the tournament, Meliodas delivers an incredible counter attack that even the human eye couldn't keep up with sending Ban flying out the ring. Without noticing, Elizabeth yells out to Meliodas thinking that he had been defeated but when the smoke clears Meliodas winks at Elizabeth reminding her he's alright. The camera then pans over to a building far in the distance where we can see Ban motionless in between the rocks further cementing the win for Meliodas. This was a spectacular scene because at first we couldn't tell what had happened due to the sheer speed that the punch was delivered, but once everything was explained we could clearly see why Ban ended up where he did.

Medaka Box was a great anime that released around the spring of 2012 and showcased a lot of fantastic action scenes, one of which we'll share with you. In this two episode fight, Medaka unleashes her fury on Unzen who had been terrorizing her for a very long time. Unable to suppress her emotions, she transforms into her second state and dashes her way towards Unzen. With marbles in his hand, Unzen also proceeds to dash towards her but with incredible speed Medaka delivers the first crushing blow digging her fist all the way into Unzen's stomach knocking the marbles out of his hand. This super punch sent Unzen flying through a library of concrete walls spewing blood from out of his mouth from the severe pain. This scene was very endearing to watch because Unzen was clearly mocking Medaka and that didn't seem to sit too well with her, and so to quiet him down she took matters into her own hands putting an end to his annoying banter.

Coming in at number four on our top anime punches has to be one of the greatest battles in anime history. The Frieza Saga was arguably one of the best of the entire Dragonball Z storyline, because of how many emotional ups and downs we had to experience while watching. The most emotional is when Krillin, Goku's childhood friend, loses his life at the hands of Frieza enraging Goku allowing him to transform into super saiya-jin. At this point Goku coerced Frieza to stop toying with him and go into his final form, which he agreed to do. Both at their full potential, Frieza tries to make the first move but Goku immediately avoids the attack unleashing us own explosive punch digging deep into Frieza's gut leaving him wincing in pain. All you can see is Goku standing over him as Frieza's eyes bulge out while trying to find a source of oxygen. The screen blurs out to show the power of Goku's punch and how it left Frieza in a dizzying state. Akira Toriyama created a golden moment here because it showed Goku's burning desire to avenge his fallen friends, and to also protect the Planet Namek which Frieza threatened to destroy. This is most certainly a must watch for any anime fan out there, because you'll truly be blown away.

We truly loved Terraformars for not only its education on insects and their methods of killing, but also for its incredible action scenes that blew us away. One very good example is in episode four when Macross and his team are up against a horde of roaches, and he must avenge Sheila since she was such an inspiration to him. Filled with immense rage, Macross dashes towards one roach driving his knee into its face similar to Sagat from Street Fighter, then being confronted again by another. With his blood boiling beyond comprehension he makes a quick dash towards the second enemy and proceeds with a shoryuken style uppercut that sends the roach head flying into the air in slow motion. At this very moment, your jaw drops at the incredible power of one punch that immediately kills the enemy and just in awe at the sheer bravery that Macross had to take on an entire group of Terraformars. If you haven't tuned into Terraformars yet, this may be the perfect time to since the show is wrapping up and the action is just unraveling.

Pound for pound Hajime no Ippo has the highest knockout percentage out of all anime, with every blow that is given making you wince in pain by the very sight of it. We chose it as number two because despite the New Dempsey Roll creating such an explosive impact, Saitama kills his opponents with one deadly blow and you can't really beat that. Nonetheless Makunouchi proves to us that he doesn't need a bald head or a yellow outfit to send his opponent to the next dimension, as you'll see in episode 13 of Hajime no Ippo Rising. Makunouchi squares off against longtime rival Ryuuhei Sawamura in a match to defend the title, and Sawamura had come prepared for Makunouchi's Dempsey Roll with a list of counter attacks to prevent being punished. While the counters had shown a lot of potential throughout the match, it was towards the final rounds where Makunouchi unleashed his New Dempsey Roll which completely countered Sawamura's counters, with every single blow hitting like a freight train leaving Sawamura helpless in the rapid succession of attacks coming his way. Each punch revved up like the engine of a car, and every bend increasing in speed like a fighter jet leaving Sawamura open to every shot to the face. In the end, Makunouchi unleashes his final blow stretching Sawamura's neck past human calculations leaving his eyes protruding out of his sockets like a frog. Makunouchi takes the title and walks out of the ring a champion yet again.

This number one should come as no surprise since the title itself says it all. Punching its way to number one is none other than Saitama himself, from One Punch Man. In episode 9 The Sea King continues to terrorize much of the city while the citizens remain helpless. Genos tries to hold off the king by throwing out an onslaught of attacks, nearly defeating the mammoth creature. Unfortunately none of it scathed him, and he returned the favor by spitting acid in order to kill the townspeople but Genos intercepted the acid ball rendering him useless. Mumen Rider makes his way to the scene and tries his best to overpower the beast but instead gets tossed to the corner like a rag doll, his entire pride shattered in one blow. Shortly after that Saitama walks in nonchalantly and confronts The Sea King, interrupting his introduction causing him to become enraged and throws out a massive punch. Within mere seconds all you can see is a big gaping hole in the middle of the king's body, his eye ball dangling out of his socket while the rest of his corpse comes crashing down to the ground in a massive heap. You can see how much force went into the punch simply by observing the wind that came out of Saitama's fist, blowing the crown off the king's head. We chose this as our number one simply because of how explosive the punch was, and how very quickly it ended the bout. Saitama just stands there as if it's just another day while the crowd cheers him on in victory. That is certainly a knockout punch we could never forget, and so we recommend you go and check out One Punch Man to see more wicked punches!

This top list starts with Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry. Stella lost the duel with Ikki, so she must be his slave for life. But Ikki is a good boy and doesn’t take advantage of this. Ikki was taking a bath when Stella surprised him by entering the bathroom wearing a bikini. She says that as she is a servant, she is supposed to wash his body. She gently washes Ikki’s body as he can’t take his eyes off her breasts. While washing his back, Stella asks Ikki if he likes girls’ breast. The answer is obvious because she knows where Ikki’s eyes were one moment ago. Then she holds him pushing her boobs against his back, but “casually” her top unties and falls on the floor. When she realizes it, she tries hard for Ikki not to look, and then this hot scene turns into a funny one.

Ranma ½ has a lot of bath scenes, but this is a whole chapter where Ranma goes to a public bath and he has to endure his master’s perversions and stop him from peeping in the girls’ bath. The English title for this episode is “Bathhouse Battle! We're in Some Hot Water Now”, so you can figure out how it’s going to end up. The water heater has broken down, so the group decides to go to a public bathhouse. Once there, Ranma notices Happosai carrying a bucket full of bath toys. When both of them are inside the pool, Happosai announces he is going to snorkel and goes underwater. Ranma quickly tugs his master closer with a ribbon on his wrist and pours water down the snorkel. After a while, Happosai tries to climb the wall with a pair of rubber gloves, but Ranma shoots him with a water pistol. As the time passes by, Happosai gets bored, so he finally sprays Ranma with cold water, turning him into a girl in front of the eyes of the other men. Furious, Ranma starts fighting with Happosai. Things really go out of control then.

Prison School got us used to great bath house scenes from the very beginning but this one is the best and not exactly for providing the viewers with fanservice. This entire scene is the product of a misunderstanding between Shingo, Gakuto and Kiyoshi in the bathroom. Shingo is confused about Kiyoshi sexual preference because of a conversation he has heard between Kiyoshi and Gakuto. When Shingo enters the shower room, he finds Gakuto kneeling in front of Kiyoshi so as to pick up the soap bar he dropped. Shingo can’t believe what he is seeing and hides behind the wall. Trying to convince himself that he is hallucinating, he enters the room again and this time finds Kiyoshi holding Gakuto from behind. When Kiyoshi and Gakuto notice the presence of Shingo, they feel embarrassed of the situation and invites Shingo to join them in the shower. Shingo misinterprets the whole situation and runs away. This is one of the most hilarious and awkward scenes ever. It isn’t common to find a bath scene involving men only, so this one is really enjoyable and I hope to see more like this.

The first part of this anime saga has almost begun in a bath, with Rito taking a bath when Lala appears naked on top of him. We can say it is a kind of gold mine bathing scenes. To Love-Ru Darkness pushed the limits a little bit further and sometimes it feels like you’re watching hentai. Nana and Momo are sharing a bath. Nana admits she is starting to develop feelings for Rito. Momo feels jealous and grabs Nana’s tail, the most sensitive part of a Devilukean. They end up getting into an erotic fight, stroking and licking each others tails, which lead them to an obvious result. Even though Nana and Momo having a bath together isn't new in the series, the way they ended up is a good example of ecchi yuri. This is probably the most explicit bathing scene in the anime.

This anime is from the same director as Revolutionary Girl Utena, which is a classic for yuri anime. Only by reading the title, we know what can be expected: “Yuri Kuma Arashi”, a storm of lesbian bears. Yes, the plot is a little surrealistic, but if you leave that on the side the anime is really good, one of the best of 2015, in fact. The show has a lot of great bathing scenes. The scenery usually is Kureha's pink bathtub. This scene is the best because it involves all three main characters. Ginko and Lulu are sharing the tub, and Lulu is washing Ginko’s hair. Then, Ginko starts to fantasize about Kureha joining her in the bath and washing her body as she gets closer and closer. The scene ends up with them transformed into bears, which turns the scene from sexy to cute.

Have you ever heard about a “foodgasm”? If you don’t, then you must watch this anime and you’ll discover a whole new world about the power of food. Although it’s an “ecchi” anime, bath scenes aren’t common in this show; actually, I think this is the only one. But with this scene they took all the credit. Soma was one of the first to finish the Dinner Assignment, so he heads up to the bathroom believing he is going to be the only one there. But he meets Gin Dojima stretching there, who mentions stretching in the bath is part of his daily routine. They feel a little uncomfortable but they start a conversation. Gin confesses he has planned to be done before the students come in, but mentions that the past year he was caught up by a student as well: Ikki senpai. Gin’s memories of Ikki and the scene he shares with Soma aren’t precisely manly. The scene jumps to the girls’ side of the bath and we get some fanservice action thanks to Tadokoro’s rubber duck floating between Sasaki’s boobs.

The whole group is getting settled at Rika's house. The girls are taking a bath, while the boys check the weapons and ammunition in the household. Of course, the interesting part is the one in the girls’ bath. While taking a bath, girls are impressed about the size of their sensei’s boobs. She says she is used to them, and immediately Rei grabs Shizuka’s breast and starts playing with them. Saya and Saeko are having a chat while taking a shower. Saya seems to be jealous about sensei’s big breast. Saeko changes the water temperature and shoots Saya with cold water. In revenge, Saya splashes a cube of cold water on Saeko’s back. But the best part is that during this scene, we can see Rei banging Shizuka from behind in a kind of doggy style way as Shizuka tries to get rid of her.

We are getting close to the top of the ranking. Even though the Araragi Bathroom has always offered us a good scenario, this scene has become the greatest bathing scene in the entire Monogatari series. Koyami has prepared a bath for Karen, but he decides to use it for himself. There he is caught by her sister Tsukihi, who was also planning on using the bath. After briefly arguing about who should use the bath first, they decide to bathe together. She mentions that Nadeko was released from the hospital. Koyomi is happy, but he realizes that without a god, the shrine will accumulate more dark energy, which will only cause more problems for the town. Tsukihi tells him that he shouldn't worry that much. Koyomi then finds out that he can’t see his reflection; he had turned into a real vampire. To prevent Tsukihi for watching in the mirror, Koyomi holds her head firmly. She thinks he wants to kiss her and seems to be willing to do it. At that very moment, Karen enters the bathroom and kicks both of them into the bathtub. This is one of the weirdest scenes I have recently seen. Imagine you are a vampire, having a bath with your sister and she is hot for you… WTF?

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid has a great amount of bath scenes that shift between hot spring scenes and Charlotte's bathtub scenes. It also has a great amount of boobs, big boobs. But if I had to pick one scene it would be this one. This is actually a long scene of a hot spring at a beach. A few minutes before, it is revealed that Akira was actually a girl. Akira and Torino are having a relaxing bath in a hot spring. They talk for a while and fool around about how stressed they were. There is a shot where you can see the sunset between the breasts of one of them (pure poetry). When they are about to leave, Mamori and Mirei arrive. Just by looking at Akira naked, Mamori transforms into a sword. It seems to be love at first sight. Then the four girls share the bath, without knowing the real identity of Akira. The major question that rises up after this episode is: how did Akira manage to hide those boobs till now?

And the winner is… Studio Shaft with Nisekoi. The studio has done an outstanding job with adapting an average manga like Nisekoi into a really good anime series. The best bath scene of this ranking belongs to the 9th episode of this anime. Unlike the manga, the anime made this scene one of the best of the season with a lot of fanservice and humor at the same time. Claude changes the signs for the women’s and men’s baths, so Raku gets tricked into the wrong hot spring. Chitoge realizes Raku is there and goes mad, but then she understands it was all Claude’s fault. When she is trying to help him to escape, the other girls arrive and start talking about Kosaki's first love. Raku feels curious and tries to listen while hiding under the water. Kosaki runs away from the girls blocking Raku’s way out. When Chitoge realize this, he tries to move Kosaki away, but she stumbles and falls on top of Raku, who loses his towel as a result. Eventually, Raku manages to escape and reaches the men’s bath. This could be a classic scene between a girl and a guy in the onsen, but it has a big plus and it’s that the boy shouldn’t be there. At least that you are Ranma, being a boy in a girls’ bath is definitely not a good idea.

Kill la Kill is the perfect anime to start off our list because it’s impressive in so many different levels. The story is about Ryuuko Matoi who has been searching for her father’s killer. Equipped with only a half-scissor shaped weapon, she enters Honnouji Academy to try and find the culprit. Unfortunately, the school is ruled by Satsuki Kiryuuin along with some powerful student council members. She stumbles into meeting Senketsu, a talking uniform also known as a “Kamui” or God Clothing. Senketsu helps her to awaken a new power that will give her a chance against the elite members of the school and get a lead on her father’s murderer by looking for the other half of the scissor blade. This is a high paced show overflowing with great action scenes. The build-up on how Ryuuko Matoi encounters Kiryuin Satsuki is just epic in all proportions. Their amazing uniform transformations will make any anime fan drool plus the impressive battle scene itself is just something words cannot describe. You will have to experience it yourself. If you are familiar with the action that Gainax brings to the table, then you’ll surely have a lot of fun watching this action packed series.

Two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, have lost their mother. They turn to “alchemy” in order to revive her using the forbidden act of human transmutation. It quickly backfires and they both pay a horrible price for their wrongdoing. Edward loses his leg and sacrifices his right arm to affix Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor. The traumatic event motivates Edward to fix his body using mechanical limbs called “automail” to try and become a state alchemist. His brother joins the journey and they find a way to revert their bodies back to their original form. Let me quote their famous line "In order for something to be obtained, something of equal value must be lost". That might have been true for this series but the time we lost watching these epic anime was more than worth it. This impressive battle scene by Alphonse against Pride and Kimblee is just one of many epic moments of this series. This particular scene makes it in our list because it highlights the strength of Alphonse being on par with two powerful enemies. He somehow steals the spotlight from Edward to let the fans know he can fight as well. Get ready for an eye candy of fights and a great story when watching Fullmetal Alchemist.

In a mafia-governed city called Ergastulum, Nicholas Brown and Worick Arcangelo are mercenaries for hire known as “Handymen”. Both working for the police and mob syndicates, they will take any job for a price. After an assignment to kill a pimp, they meet Alex. A prostitute who got mistreated by the pimp they needed to eliminate. Caught in the dilemma of killing her because of her hopelessness, the two keep her as a reward for the current assignment and makes her a part of the team. A show not intended for the light hearted, this action-packed anime is filled with violent elements and adult themes. Nicolas and Doug take our number eight spot as they battle it out in the streets of Ergastulum. Nicolas is a badass no matter how you look at him and his recklessness just adds a more devilish aura to his very intimidating look. Doug, on the other hand, looks very young and energetic. The surprise on how evenly matched they are will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Hundred years ago, mankind was almost exterminated to extinction by giant monsters called Titans. This has forced humanity to hide behind extremely high walls enclosed to the reach of these terrifying creatures. After building a city with an impassable border for titans, the humans have lived peacefully for a hundred years. However, tragedy strikes as a much bigger titan appear, breaking their wall and breaching through the city. After witnessing her mother gets eaten by a titan, Eren Yeager vows his life to joining the military for the extermination of these merciless titans. You must be living in a cave if you haven't heard of Shingeki no Kyojin before. If you haven’t watched this series, you need to put this as the next series you will watch. Seriously speaking, this anime is over the top one of the best creations of mankind. Not only are the battles impressive, the story behind it is hands-down amazing. Taking a spinning turn on our seventh spot is the impressive battle of Levi and the mysterious Female Titan. This is the first time you will see Levi go toe to toe against a titan by himself. Be ready for some jaw dropping action and don’t say we didn’t warn you.

This is the fourth season of the great Gintama series. If you haven’t watched the first season, here’s a little backstory to it. Aliens called the Amanto have invaded Earth and have taken over Japan. Swords have been prohibited and samurais have been disregarded by society. Gintoki Sakata is an unconventional samurai who works as a “Yorozuya” or a person who offers to do almost anything for a fee. Accompanied by two other bizarre characters and an oversized dog, they try to do odd jobs that often lead them to very unfortunate and funny circumstances. Despite Gintama’s signature humor and funny references, the anime itself has a serious side to it. Entering our number six spot is a bloody battle against Gintoki and Takasugi. A big part of this impressive battle is the build-up using flashbacks on when they first met. You can somehow share their emotions during the fight and it was brutally beautiful to watch. The swordsmanship displayed by these two warriors is just awesome. If you are craving for an action-comedy anime, Gintama is the answer.

Psycho-Pass is a series set in the near future. Law enforcement has changed and Japan has obtained means of determining each person’s threat level by measuring their mental state for criminal intentions. This process referred to as “Psycho-Pass” enables inspectors to uphold the law by subjugating anyone caught with ill-will. The story mainly focuses on veteran enforcement officer Shinya Kougami and a young woman named Akane Tsunemori. Akane learns quickly that this new system is flawed and can easily be manipulated. Worthy of our Number five spot is another anime packed with action and suspense. The first encounter of Kougami and Makishima in Psycho-Pass is a feast for all martial artist fans. This impressive hand to hand battle will remind you of Bruce Lee. The dialogue that comes along with it also adds to the overall “bang” that you get after watching the scene. From the same studio that gave us of Ghost in the Shell and Attack on Titan, keep your expectations high as this anime will clearly not disappoint you.

Earth is finally at a peaceful state once again But, Sorbet and Tagoma, Freeza’s remaining servants has decided to revive their leader using the Dragon balls. Freeza’s resurrection has succeeded and he returns to Earth to take revenge on the Saiyans who defeated him before. Any top battle list will be incomplete without Dragon Ball Z. If you haven’t seen a Dragon Ball fight scene before, you’ll definitely think that it is somehow on fast forward. It’s funny how the characters seem to be in a hurry every time a fight ensues. This is the classic animation creativity that made this anime so big. The battle between Goku and Frieza was really intense; we ended up shouting along with the characters at one point of the fight. Expect a lot of terrain to explode because of their usual dose of massive fireballs and laser beams. This movie was a lot of fun from start to finish. We urge everyone to make sure they see it.

The Holy Grail is a magical artifact capable of granting any wish. In order to achieve this price, the Holy Grail War is held among seven magi. Setup as a free for all battle to the death, these Masters command heroic beings to fight for them. Fate/stay night focuses on the main characters Emiya Shirou and Rin Toosaka, who find themselves trapped in the never ending conflict that the Holy Grail has created. If you are a fan of magical fights, then the battle between Emiya and Gilgamesh would truly soothe your craving for an awesome battle. Want to see some flying swords? Leave it to these guys. This fast-paced action scene is one of the reasons why the Fate/stay night franchise has been so popular. The intriguing background of the characters, the nice overall story the series and the eye-candy fight scenes has blended well together creating a beautiful masterpiece.

Naruto has become the 7th Hokage of Konoha and is now father to Boruto Uzumaki. This movie is about the new generation of young shinobis taking the Chunin exams. Boruto seeks his dad recognition but a harsh decision by Naruto has made a crack in their relationship. Fueled by an ambition to surpass his father using new skills, Boruto seeks the help of Sasuke Uchiha. Creeping on the sidelines is a mysterious enemy that will test Konoha’s resolve once again. Naruto and Sasuke have been a household name for a long time and the naruto series has shared a lot of impressive battles. Expect nothing less in this movie as they have set the bar another level higher. Naruto, who is now officially an adult bad ass, joins forces with Sasuke to defeat the evil boss, Momoshiki, in a battle that we will never forget. The combined powers of these ninjas are just exceptional and watching them deal a great amount of ass-kicking has never been so satisfying. We won’t spoil all the details but we highly recommend everyone to watch it, as the overall action in this movie is something that cannot be missed.

One Punch Man is the story of Saitama, a superhero who has trained relentlessly and lost all of his hair in the process. He is the most powerful hero alive thus beating his enemies with…Yes. As the title suggests, one punch. Saitama has become too powerful that he became quite bored from doing heroic deeds. He later meets Genos, a young cyborg who asks to be his disciple. They both join the Hero Association to gain popularity and help society by defeating all kinds of life-threatening monsters. It is hard to think of the most impressive battle scene for this particular anime because every fight is just mind blowing awesomeness. The combination of Saitama’s emotionless bald face while Lord Boros is doing his best moves is very funny and entertaining. The explosions and the super fast exchanges are epic and beautifully made. One Punch Man has set the bar high in our Most Impressive Battle Scenes and we hope to see more of our favorite hero soon.

Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto is a shounen mecha anime by BONES that is rife with fanservices for everyone. The story revolves around the mystery that sleeps in the Southern Cross Isle, where Tsunashi Takuto had gone to spend his youthful high school age, and discovers the mysteries and legends kept in the island: the sleeping Cybodies, the four maidens whom, one of them, is his friend Agemashi Wako, and the King of Cybody’s Driver, Shindou Sugata. As an anime with tons of fan service for both male and female audience, Star Driver has various heavily BL-hinted scenes. One of the best is in episode 14, where the Night Flight drama club president Endou Sarina announced that their newest production will have a kissing scene, and Wako goes ahead to imagine a kissing scene between half-naked Takuto and Sugata! Wako’s imagination fades before Sugata and Takuto’s lips touch, but with the sparkles and roses and the almost non-existent gap between them, it’s pretty much clear how detailed Wako had imagined them kissing, leaving her flushing beet red to the roots of her hair, even more so when Jaguar sent her a thumbs up for her imagination. Good job, Wako! This scene is so popular that when a Star Driver collaboration café opened up in Japan several years ago, you could order a dessert called Wako’s Fantasy which came with a free card of this scene!

It feels almost impossible to watch anime without ever having heard, watched, or read Naruto. And of course, the relationship between Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke is one of the things heavily highlighted in the series, resulting in a no small number of fans of these two. Considering how popular these two as a ship is even after the series ended, and how this was probably a lot of people’s first BL ship, it seems fair to put their hilarious first kiss scene onto this list. Arguably also one of the most hilarious boys kissing scene ever, Sasuke and Naruto accidentally stole each other’s first kiss in episode three. When Naruto had curiously and aggressively examined Sasuke upon their meeting in the exam room, trying to make sense why Sasuke is so popular among the girls, the small distance between them was closed when Tobio, from behind Naruto, swings his hand and bumps Naruto’s back, accidentally pushing him forward and onto Sasuke’s face—or lips. It lasts about three seconds where everyone freezes, and it’s absolutely hilarious. Nonetheless, it does become some of the memories Sasuke or Naruto would remember fondly much, much later in the series, and definitely one that usually makes fans go “aaaaww”.

Loveless brings its audience into a completely normal world, except virgins have cat ears and tails, and special people can battle each other in the form of words. These people come in pairs: one that attacks, called the Fighter, and one who bears the pain, the Sacrifice. Aoyagi Ritsuka, who had lost his older brother, met with Agatsuma Soubi, who is not only a close friend of his brother, but also his Fighter, and now has become Ritsuka’s Fighter. Considering kissing and intimacy is a normal way for Fighters to draw strength to fight from their Sacrifice, we get to see Soubi and Ritsuka kissing several times even in episode one, but the most significant one is definitely the one that happens in episode five. Facing the pair named Sleepless consisting of Kinka and Ginka, who taunts Ritsuka that they’ll give him an envelope with information Ritsuka wants to know. Knowing that Soubi will not tell him anything, Ritsuka lets Soubi engage the battle system and they face Sleepless. Ritsuka fiercely states that he wants the envelope to understand why his brother was killed. In response, Soubi leans down and kisses Ritsuka. With the kiss strengthening their bond as Sacrifice and Fighter, Ritsuka orders Soubi to win—something he has not ever done before. The kissing scene is brief, but intense nonetheless, especially with Ritsuka’s dawning understanding of what he is getting into, which means a lot for his relationship with Soubi. Its significance is even more stressed when later in the same battle, Kinka manages to hurt Soubi and restrains him with a chain on his neck. Ritsuka willingly kisses the bleeding wound, and tells Soubi good luck.

Turning to the older series, our next selection came from the classic BL anime: Gravitation. Based on a manga with the same title, Gravitation tells the love story between Shindou Shuichi, the vocalist of a newly rising rock band Bad Luck, and Yuki Eiri, a famous, if cold, novelist who is popular among female readers. After their rather displeasing first encounter where Yuki told Shuichi that he has “zero talent”, Shuichi managed to break out of his slump and slowly realized that he had, indeed, fallen for Yuki. Out of several kiss scenes in the anime, for this list, it’s the one that happened in the beginning of episode four that we’ll be highlighting. The episode began with Shuichi appearing suddenly on Yuki’s doorstep with all of his things, and, in Gravitation’s typical silly humour, proceeds to move in and makes space for himself, loudly announcing that he’ll be living with Yuki from now on. Having none of it, Yuki kicks him out, but Shuichi jams himself against the door and starts arguing until Yuki lets go of the door and the two tumbles down onto the genkan. Fondly exasperated at Shuichi, Yuki lets him have his victory, and leans up to kiss Shuichi briefly. “Just for a week,” Yuki says, and we get to see him looking embarrassed a little! With this one heartwarming, yet adorable and somehow hilarious kiss scene, we get to see how Yuki is slowly letting Shuichi into his heart, and consequently into his life, which proves critical to the rest of the story.

Based on the manga by the popular duo Eiki Eiki and Zaou Taishi, Love Stage!! is a BL romantic comedy that revolves around the son of a successful, very famous actor/actress family, Sena Izumi, who dreams to be a mangaka, and the current heartthrob of an actor, Ichijou Ryouma. The two had worked together for an advertisement when they were kids, in which Izumi had crossdressed as a girl, and at the same time, stolen Ryouma’s heart. Now ten years later and reunited, Ryouma finds out that the ‘girl’ he had fallen for is a boy after all. Hilarity and adorableness ensue as these two dorks realize their feelings for each other. Most of the kissing scenes in Love Stage!! are either extremely stupid and funny. The best one, though, has to be the ones that happen in the last episode. After realizing that he only wants Ryouma’s touch, and how he’d fallen for Ryouma, Izumi makes a dash to Ryouma’s place, and flies into his arms once Ryouma opens the door. Both of them fell on the genkan, and Izumi wastes no time to pull Ryouma into a kiss. Or actually two. And casually, excitedly,Izumi invites Ryouma to go to bed with him for the first time. And while this is an exciting development between Izumi and Ryouma, it is also hilarious to note that Izumi got everything mixed up—he forgets to actually tell Ryouma that he loves him. Nonetheless, it’s a heartwarming conclusion to everything, and on top of that, the animation of the kissing scenes in this episode is really nice!

Set in the same universe as Junjou Romantica and written by the same mangaka, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi managed to get two seasons of an anime adaptation. Though it follows the story of three (not counting Yokozawa’s Cases that weren’t adapted into the anime) couples, it mainly highlights the relationship between Onodera Ritsu and Masamune Takano. In high school Takano left Ritsu brokenhearted for a reason he never told Ritsu. Years later, Ritsu entered the shoujo manga section for Marukawa Publishing as an editor, and surprise surprise, Takano is the chief! The story of Ritsu and Takano mainly revolves around Takano trying to get Ritsu to fall back in love with him, but Ritsu’s being stubborn because the scar from their high school time is still too fresh. Gradually though, he warms up, and starts being unable to keep away from Takano’s advances. The kissing scenes in episode five are particularly heartwarming—when Takano kisses him in the darkness of the stopped train, Ritsu complains only a little but lets Takano hold his hand as they walk home. It gets better; after the two stumble upon Ritsu’s fiancée, An, later, Ritsu grows worried that Takano would misunderstand. He goes to Takano after seeing An off, tries to explain that their engagement is a family arrangement, and desperately asks Takano not to go to Yokozawa. Takano answers Ritsu with a kiss instead. Ritsu, for once, accepts the kiss and lets himself be embraced afterwards. It’s a really heartwarming scene between the two of them, saying a lot in how Ritsu has begun to let Takano back into his life again. Clearly it’s only a matter of (hundreds of) days until Ritsu fall in love with Takano again!

Another one from Sekaiichi Hatsukoi—this time focusing on the other couple of the series: Kisa Shouta, the thirty year-old who is also a fellow editor in Marukawa Publishing, and Yukina Kou, the sparkling prince-like part-timer in Marimo Books who is really good-looking and really good with people. There are several episodes in both seasons of the anime that focus solely in the relationship between Yukina and Kisa, especially because they hook up quite early in the series. Out of all the kisses these two share, though, a personal favorite would be their first one. After being introduced to Kisa, and later accidentally meets him in the café, Yukina enthusiastically asks about Kisa’s work and the manga he’s in charge of. Yukina’s praises of his works leave Kisa feeling warm, and he begins busily telling himself that he is not actually in love, he can’t be falling in love with someone nine years younger, and that he’s just very happy about being praised. Noticing that Kisa isn’t paying attention and is off on his own world, Yukina asks him what’s wrong, and is answered with Kisa’s adorable red face. The whole scene has a very dazed, romantic feeling in it—from the slow animation when Yukina reaches out to Kisa, to the way he holds his sketchbook up to cover their kiss from other customers in the café. The scene feels very dreamy, very fitting to the shoujo manga parallel that Kisa and Yukina’s story sometimes refers to. It’s not their first time going out with someone, but it is definitely both Kisa’s and Yukina’s first love.

Shin Sekai Yori is a supernatural horror anime that is set in a dystopian society of Japan after the chaos that happened when 0.1% of the population discovered their psychokinetic ability, resulting in the outbreak of violence when a lot of them were unable to control it. After a long period of chaos, the psychokinetic society settles into a fragile, yet peaceful society bound with numerous rules. Shin Sekai Yori is about the coming-of-age of Watanabe Saki and her friends: Asahina Satoru, Aonuma Shun, Itou Mamoru and Akizuki Maria, how they awaken to their powers, and how they walk to the future. When they reach the age of fourteen, most, if not all, the kids begin to enter relationships with those of the same sex. That includes Satoru and Shun—who seem to look very happy with one another. In episode 8, Saki, who still holds feelings for Shun even though she’s dating Maria, catches sight of Shun looking for his dog. She refrains from approaching Shun when she sees Satoru running after Shun, jumping on top of him, and the two of them playfully rolls around in the flower field before Satoru gains the upper hand, and leans down to kiss Shun. For a moment, the two boys share a passionate kiss before Shun notices Saki looking at them from afar. He doesn’t let go of Satoru, though, and Saki is the one who turns away, and later runs away to find Maria. As the series goes on and the story turns darker, remembering this particular kissing scene makes it feel sadder upon rewatch, knowing what fate awaits Shun, and how both Satoru and Saki keeps loving him even as they grow into adults.

Originally based on a novel with the same title, No. 6 is a sci-fi anime with a dystopian setting where mankind lives in six different city-states surrounded with tall walls, which are supposed to be peaceful and perfect. No. 6 follows Shion, a resident of one of the city-states called No. 6, who once helped a fugitive called Nezumi when they were both kids, resulting in him and his mother being relocated and losing their ‘elite resident’ status. When he grew up, an incident brought Shion to meet Nezumi again, this time having his life saved by Nezumi, and through their eyes, the darker secrets and parts of No. 6 is slowly unveiled. Throughout everything they go through together, Shion and Nezumi’s relationship becomes the highlight of the show; they are not lovers, but it was acknowledged in both anime and novel that they are each other’s most important person. In the course of the anime, the two of them share kisses twice, but the most touching one happened in episode 7, when Shion greets Nezumi home with a spread of delicious dinner. They eat together, have warm and light conversation where Nezumi teases Shion lightly about his childhood friend Safu, and Shion answers with a heartfelt confession of how glad he is that he had met Nezumi. Ending that, Shion stands up and bends down to press his lips against Nezumi. Shion tells Nezumi it’s a ‘good-night kiss’ and calls it a night, but Nezumi could see through him completely and knows that it was a goodbye kiss instead, because Shion is planning to go and try to save Safu by himself. The kiss symbolizes the sort of relationship between Nezumi and Shion; brief but heartfelt and deep, and underlines how they understand one another so well despite the lies they try to hold. To the audience, it’s a kiss that is both painful and sweet at the same time, which really, that’s the best kind of ships, isn’t it?

This newest BL anime movie that was released last February is based on a popular slice-of-life BL manga with the same title by Nakamura Asumiko. Kusakabe Hikaru is a high school student who plays guitar for a band, and is helping his classmate Sajou Rihito, the quiet and shy honor student, to prepare for their class’ chorus performance. Somewhere along the way, the two fall into a quiet high school romance, and faces the typical love life problems that teenagers have together. The kiss scene that snags the first place of this list is Kusakabe and Sajou’s first kiss—at night in the park, after they finished practicing the song for the chorus, Kusakabe, who has been fascinated and ensnared by Sajou’s general existence ever since they get closer, questions Sajou if Sajou works so hard for the chorus because of their male teacher, Hara-sensei. Surprised, Sajou drops the water bottle in his hand. They both scramble to reach for the bottle, at which point Sajou touches Kusakabe’s hand on the bottle, and Kusakabe, almost dazedly, turns and kisses him square on the lips. The directing in this simply makes for a breathtaking kissing scene. The slow animation from when Kusakabe and Sajou’s hands touch one another, the seamless way Kusakabe turns around and pulls Sajou for a kiss without even realizing it, the brief three seconds where it felt like no one breathes as they kiss. The scene feels very quiet and suspended for eternity, very beautifully executed. To complete it, the next scene where we have Kusakabe sputtering nervously in shock because he had kissed Sajou without even thinking, was done in a blinking-manga-panels that preserves the lovely, quiet atmosphere Doukyuusei manga is widely known for.

It’s one thing to have zombies. But in an anime filled with explosions, it’s still another thing entirely to have a zombified character start shooting energy blasts. But that’s exactly what Horobi does when she becomes the heart of a Black Cloud beast thanks to Biba’s serum. This new attack of hers results in a powerful explosion that many didn’t see coming. As a result of said attack, the Kabane at Iwato Station are destroyed, and if it wasn’t for Biba killing Horobi since she had served her purpose, we more than likely would have seen more explosions like that from her. Luckily there are plenty of other explosions in the series to keep fans tied over.

If you’re the last remaining link to the survival of humanity, then you’d best be able to defend it with the best you have to offer, and the Sidonia isn’t lacking in that department. Regarded as possibly the last human ship in outer space, the Sidonia’s Heavy Mass Cannon is well equipped with the necessary power to take on the Gauna, and proves it early on in the series. This explosion is an impactful one for multiple reasons. For one, this explosion occurs in outer space. While a fair amount of explosions do take place in outer space, unless it’s that of a planet, very few manmade explosions occur that reach this size. Second, the speed of which the explosion reaches the size that it does is incredibly fast. It certainly ranks among the fastest explosions on this list. Finally, this explosions stands out in terms of its appearance. Most explosions tend to take on a circular shape of some sort. This explosion actually has a unique design to it, something many explosions on this list are lacking in. Interesting how something so destructive can also look strangely beautiful at the same time.

Explosions tend to take place in the landscape and are caused by either weapons or some type of special attack used by someone on someone else. As a result, most of those types of explosions tend to be more on the visual scale (with some exceptions). That being said, explosions that actually claim the life of someone tend to be more emotional, especially if they were a secondary character of some sort. In the case of Netero, you have an explosion caused by a character willing to commit suicide by use of the Poor Man’s Rose in order to see to the death of the King if necessary. Even if you survive the initial explosion, the poison residing within the weapon will kill you in the long run. A perfect example of a somber explosion.

What makes an explosion even more epic than normal is when it comes at a time where everything rides on the outcome of its aftermath, and Ryuko’s battle against Ira culminates in such an explosion. With Ira’s Scourge Regalia serving as an armor defending Ira from Ryuko’s attacks, Ryuko situation seems hopeless. However, with the help of Senketsu, Ryuko uses a new form to pull off the win in epic fashion, creating a massive explosion in the process that would have left Ryuko the loser had it not succeeded. Even though the multi-colored explosion itself was very brief, the impact was very powerful, qualifying it to be on this list.

Many explosions tend to be very wide and circular the more massive they get. The Seven Swell explosion in Eureka 7, however, breaks that trend. Not only do we get to see an explosion that is multi-colored (which in of itself is rare), but we also see an explosion that ends up being very large in terms of its height as opposed to its width. We also grow to learn how such an explosion is created as a result of an “emotional agreement” of the minds of the pilots piloting their respective Nirvash, a special type of mecha-suit. As a result, the Seven Swell explosion’s creation as well as the explosion itself are what qualify it to rank in this list.

It’s one thing when you know an explosion is coming. But it’s even better when it unexpectedly occurs. Especially if it’s in a setting where there is no logical reason for it to occur in the first place. Plenty of these types of moments exist in Nichijou, a wacky series to say the least. In this particular case, Nano is running down an alley when a boy listening to headphones walks from out behind a corner. Nano does her best to slow down to avoid hitting him, but it’s clear what’s going to happen. As one would expect, a nuclear explosion results from said collision that covers the entire immediate landscape. This isn’t the only explosion like this to occur in Nichijou either, as many more random scenarios depict this type of setup. Definitely an explosion that resides in a class of its own in terms of context.

As epic as Gurren Lagann’s fights are throughout the series, one of the coolest explosions takes place in the 2nd movie, where the ultimate battle takes place between Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and the Anti-Sprial. The collision that takes place between their ultimate drill attacks is nothing short of leaving someone awestruck as they try to comprehend what exactly they’re witnessing. As a result of how powerful the attacks are, the resulting explosion from their attacks as well as the immediate aftereffect is unfathomable. It’s not every explosion that results in multiple galaxies collapsing inward towards the source of said explosion. Truly an explosion that will be remembered in the days to come.

When you’ve got a hilarious anime that revolves around the idea of a man who can defeat powerful opponents with just one punch, you’d best believe that there are going to be some giant explosions that take place. Picking just one explosion from the series is difficult, as many acts of destruction are committed by Saitama’s opponents as they try to demonstrate their best moves in any effort to defeat him. Not to mention the resulting explosions that occur from the number of monsters Saitama annihilates into pieces. However, a strong case can be made for the strongest punch Saitama delivers in the series in his final fight with Boros. The impact of such a punch is nothing short of incredible, as the explosion afterwards immediately effects the entire planet and leaves Boros, a being that can regenerate himself from hundreds of pieces as well as fatal wounds, completely wiped out and unable to move. The fact that one person could create such an explosion is nothing short of remarkable.

One of those few explosions where the explosion itself was impactful due to both its context and how big it was. With Frieza telling Goku Namek will blow up in 5 minutes after destroying the planet’s core, the tension begins to mount as Goku races against the clock to not only defeat Frieza, but also get to a spaceship so that he can escape. In the final seconds, the audience watches from outer space as the massive explosion takes place, and we’re left wondering if Goku somehow survived or was caught in the explosion. Even when we learn at the end of the Frieza saga that Goku is alive, we’re still left wondering how exactly he was able to escape, and the sequence that occurs once Goku gets back to Earth and recounts his survival is pretty cool to say the least. All in all, a perfect explosion that ties in very well with the plot of the story.

Doesn’t get much better than this one. Not only do you have a meaningful story that lies with a young boy struggling to control his powers, experience a fall from grace, and fight his former friends, but the actual explosion itself is unbelievable. Rarely do you see an explosion happen where it gets bigger to the point where you wonder just how much bigger it’s going to get before it stops. The fact that Kaneda and some of his friends were even able to survive such an enormous explosion is miraculous, as most of Neo-Tokyo is completely wiped out. Not to mention Tetsuo not only surviving the initial explosion, but being blasted into a different universe as well. With the explosion serving as the finale to the struggle that ensued, you can’t ask for a bigger way to go out on top.

Sinking its fangs into 10th place, we have Blood+. Blood+ revolves around Saya Otonashi an anemic but otherwise ordinary high school girl who one day is attacked by a giant bat-like monster with vampiric tendencies called a chiropteran. After being forced to drink blood from a mysterious, knife-wielding man named Haji, Saya discovers she is the only person on the planet capable of permanently killing the chiropteran, by using her own blood as a weapon. Soon Saya is drawn into a dark and monster filled world that can only be stopped by her. But will she succeed against the legions of monsters and its horrible queen? The 10th most evil laugh belongs to the childlike but terrifying Diva, queen of the chiropteran. With her young appearance, child-like mentality, a curiosity of the world and love for anything cute, Diva would seem like a questionable choice for having an evil laugh... That is until you actually hear her laughter. Once Diva’s laugh is heard, the viewers understand immediately, that despite her childlike tone, Diva is a deeply unhinged monster who would brutally torture a man as if she were playing a game of hide and seek. What makes her laugh so truly evil is the fact she honestly doesn’t see anything wrong with what she does. Viewers beware... if you hear her sweet and childlike laughter, screams will soon follow.

Naruto Shippuden is the ongoing sequel to Naruto. Like the first season, Naruto Shippuden follows the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a clumsy yet powerful and charming ninja, who after 2 years of training has returned home to the Hidden Leaf village, in order to protect his friends and find his missing friend Sasuke Uchiha. Unfortunately, Naruto is also being hunted down by the Akatsuki, a group of powerful and very dangerous renegade ninjas. The story mainly follows Naruto’s adventures against the Akatsuki and his attempt to halt their plan to take control of all the “Tailed Beasts” in order to dominate the world, including the one sealed inside Naruto! At the top of evil laughs in the Naruto Shippuden world, Haden from the Akatsuki takes the trophy. Haden loves nothing more than inflicting pain upon others and reveling in the slaughter of those around him. In fact, Haden is also a masochist, choosing to conduct a curse that allows both him and his victim to feel the same pain they inflict upon each other. It is here, Haden unleashes his torrent of vile and pain filled laughter, as he watches his victims scream in agony while he tortures them slowly. His laugh is truly one that represents someone who revels in evil.

Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight is done in the style of an old school RPG. For the first half of the series, we follow Parn, a “free” knight, who travels the world helping others while in the second half we watch Spark, a knight-in-training, as he gathers comrades in order to protect Neese, the priestess of Marfa, from the evil wizard Wagnard and his evil scheme to destroy the world. With legions of goblins, ogres, dark elves and undead beings at his command, Wagnard has little need for human companionship or even basic acceptance of life. In fact, Wagnard has such a distaste for all living things, he wishes to see nothing but death in the world, ending all life and laughing maniacally while doing it. Speaking of laughter, Wagnard’s laughter is straight out of the evil requirements handbook. With his patented trademark laugh of the “Mua Ha Ha Ha” variety, he likes to have himself known to his foes before they even lay eyes on him. Wagnard seems to enjoy saving his laughs until the opportune moment, be it to suddenly appear out of nowhere and kidnap the innocent maiden or laugh evilly as he explains his evil schemes to his rivals. But one thing is for sure, whether you are new to the villainous genre or a bad guy veteran, Wagnard’s laugh will strike you as evil beyond measure.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni is the story of a group of rich (and fairly snobbish) family members who meet together for their annual reunion. The head of the family, Kinzo Ushiromiya, is nearing death and the rest of the family have come to see who shall gain all his inheritance. Unfortunately, a mysterious letter appears, which claims that the people of the island must find the secret treasure of the Golden Witch, or else they will all die. Soon, people begin to disappear, one by one, only to later be found brutally murdered inside inaccessible rooms. But who is killing everyone? Is it really Beatrice, the fabled Golden Witch? Or is it just crazy superstition? The Golden Witch, Beatrice is an interesting villain. While watching the show, the viewers are unsure if she is truly a witch or a normal lady, or perhaps if she is even real, to begin with. Regardless of which is true, she can still give goosebumps, with her sinister giggles which slowly cascades into a full-blown cackling laughter. In her laughter, the viewers can see how much she truly enjoys toying with others and feels nothing but delight in their sufferings. Because of this, her iconic “witch” laugh lands her on the list.

Kicking sand into the eyes of Hidan from # 9 of this list, we have Gaara of the Sand placing at sixth. Naruto is the story of an outcast ninja named Naruto Uzumaki, who lacks the agility, talent and even intelligence to become a full-fledged ninja. Hated by his entire town, Naruto pledges to become the strongest ninja, with one day becoming the Hokage (leader) of his village. Throughout the series, we watch Naruto grow not only as a ninja but as a person, making friends through each obstacle and slowly growing accepted by a world that once hated him. Hated by everyone, Gaara of the Sand decided to hate the world back, choosing to love only himself, and view the rest of the world as pests that should be killed. Through years of fear and being alone, along with the inherited curse of being unable to sleep, Gaara slowly begins to drift towards insanity, finding that the only way to prove he exists is by harming others, and being feared. It is later in this insanity, do we witness Gaara’s first evil laugh; loud, high pitched, psychotic and full of bitter feelings. When Gaara laughs, the viewers instantly understand Gaara’s feelings and know that only evil lies in the laughter of this insane child.

Slicing its way into number 5 on the list, we have "Hollow" Ichigo from Bleach. Bleach tells the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student with the abilities to see and talk to ghosts. As fate would have it, Ichigo becomes a shinigami and is charged with protecting his town from Hollows, evil spirits that devour souls, That is until Ichigo is drawn deeper into the shinigami’s world, being taken on the adventure of a lifetime. When it comes to chaos, there are very few who rock it as much as “Hollow” Ichigo. Whether he is wearing his half-mask in the real world or appearing as a black and white version of Ichigo, his character is instantly seen as one of madness and chaos. With his high pitched and shrilled laughter, anyone can see that Hollow Ichigo truly cares for nothing more than causing carnage and seeing his enemies cower in fear over massive and chaotic power. When viewers hear his telltale laugh, they know they are in for a good time.

Hellsing Ultimate revolves around two members of the Hellsing organization, Seras Victoria, an ex-police officer who has become a fledgling vampire and Alucard, a powerful, nearly immortal, master vampire. Hellsing Ultimate follows the two as they travel around the UK, killing evil monsters and enemy factions that threaten both Queen and Country, usually dispatching their foes in the most horrendous, blood splattering and truly epic ways. Alucard is perhaps most famous for being a true anti-hero in the anime world. While he generally “fights for the better good”, viewers have no illusions about his true dark nature. Sadistic, chaotic, and a true lover of battle, Alucard loves nothing more than utterly crushing his foes, breaking both their bodies and their spirits. Almost always wearing his ruby red duster style coat, large fedora hat, and orange tinted glasses with goggle sided framing, Alucard also loves wearing his most sinister smile on his face, no matter the occasion. But all of this fails in comparison to his flourish of menacing and truly psychotic laughter. With each dark laugh forced from his dead lungs, Alucard tells the world that he is truly enjoying himself, and all the chaos that he brings with him.

After ripping our nails out here at Honey’s Anime, we have finally chosen a number 3 for our list of Top Evil Laughs In Anime. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is the story of several middles school friends; Keiichi Maebara ,Rena Ryuugu, Mion & Shion Sonozaki, Satoko Hojo, and Rika Furude. In each “Story”, a murder or other crime are committed, with one character acting as the main lead for the viewers. Through each segment, the viewer gets to see the bigger picture, discovering what is truly happening in the silent little town of Hinamizawa, eventually discovering that each strange and completely different scene is actually connected to one another, resulting in a truly epic story. Shion Sonozaki is beautiful, rich , intelligent, and a complete sweet young girl at the start of the series. That is until we learn her true nature. Shion is quite insane. “Grade A crazy” insane. Whether she is either laughing at the misfortune of others caused by her own nefarious planning or finding herself only capable of laughing as a coping mechanism to some of the most brutal and disturbing deaths in anime history, one thing is for sure, Shion’s psychotic and evil laughter will haunt its viewers for years to come.

Death Note writes itself into number 2 of our list. Death Note tells the story of Light Yagami, a genius young man, who has his entire life planned out, until one day, he comes across the Death Note, a magical but ordinary looking notebook that will kill anyone who’s real name is written in it, while the writer pictures the victim’s face. Upon acquiring the Death Note, Light Yagami makes it his personal quest to kill all criminals and anyone else he views as a hindrance to society or his own goals. Now insane with power, it falls onto the mysterious world-renowned detective “L” to stop him. But which of the two geniuses will emerge victorious in a game where death awaits the loser? Light Yagami comes in second on our list due to his unique nature. Throughout the series, we watch Light as he uses strategy and reason to justify his methods, allowing the viewers to at least understand, if not sympathize with Light’s methods and point of view. As the story progresses, we get to view tiny bits of laughter from Light Yagami, with each laughter afterward becoming more frantic and diabolical. Eventually, we get to watch as Light begins chuckling to himself only to soon erupt into a frenzy of pure maniacal laughter. This laughter still sends chills down the spines of those who listen to it, and perhaps even a little fear of having their name, somewhere at some time, written into a tiny black notebook.

Soul Eater tells the story of 7 students ; Soul Eater Evans, Maka Albarn, Black Star, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa, Liz and Patty Thompson and Death the Kid, who attend Death’s Weapon Meister Academy. The role of the students is to train as either meisters (weapon users) or as weapons (humans capable of taking the form of a weapon) , whose goal is to gather the souls of 99 evil humans and the soul of 1 witch. Aside from collecting souls, students also act in a somewhat military capacity, hunting down evil souls that become monsters, and generally protecting the world from those who follow the path of madness. Can our heroes unite and stop their plans? Or will they succumb to the madness? Asura the Kishin is the embodiment of evil and madness in the world of Soul Eater. Asura chose to devour the souls of innocent humans, attempting to become a god, so he would have nothing to fear (as he is the personification of fear). Instead of becoming a god, he instead becomes a Kishin, a demon of madness. And it is here, that his evil unleashes upon the world. No longer able to feel anything except insanity and fear, Ashura chooses to embrace madness and spreads it to others with just his mere presence, making all those who encounter him mindless and utterly insane. To help capture the essence of Asura the Kishin, the viewers have the pleasure of hearing his nonsensical, high shrilled, maniacal laughter that is utterly devoid of any rational or thought. Asura ranks at number 1, because his laughter tells all who hears it, that either death or madness is coming for you. There is no stopping it. It is both a tsunami of fear and a hurricane of insanity. It is a natural disaster that infects the deepest parts of your mind, filling you with madness. As Asura once said, "The root of all fear is imagination." Let his evil and madness fill you. For then, you have nothing to fear.

The word ‘sexy’ has no meaning in the face of anime lingerie and angled rear ends. Words simply lack the effectiveness against such beauty that transcends our feeble imagination. With that being said, kicking off our Top 10 Anime Girls in Lingerie list is none other than Shiho Shishido from Actually, I Am. When Asahi Kuromine finds out his crush Youko Shiragami is, in fact, a vampire, his world turns upside down as one by one more beings of the supernatural welcome themselves into his life. Including that of Youko’s childhood friend; man transformed into a perverted, busty female at the sight of the moon, Shiho Shishido. The real challenge, however, is whether or not Asahi can keep his mouth tight-lipped long enough for his own sake as well as everyone else’s. Shiho Shishido is, simply put, gorgeous. Every angle is the right angle when Shiho is the subject to capture, and let’s be honest, her magnificent figure will make every man discover a stiff posture, and even have our lovely ladies taking a dive into their own waterfalls. When donned in her kitty lingerie in episode seven, a true sexual attraction is birthed anew.

One button at a time, and voila! Our next inclusion on the list, straight from Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, is the inescapable Stella Vermillion. In a world riddled with the common use of sorcery, nothing is unattainable. However, for Ikki Kurogane, arguably the worst student in his class, things are the exact opposite. That is, until he mistakenly walks in on Stella Vermillion while in a state of undress. With her short fuse and violent nature, Stella comes off as distant as ever, but when this unlikely pair learns to aid one another, limitations may be nothing more than a figment of their past. Hotter than a fresh baked apple pie, and steamier than a red bean dumpling, Stella has manifested the true experience of seduction. Good things come to those who wait, and with a scene like this kicking in at episode 9, the wait is well worth it. While the action is short-lived, a second truly lasts a lifetime when paired with the sweet virtue that is Stella. And this is barely just the tip of the iceberg. Rakudai Kishi is packed like a subway at peak hour with hot scenes just like this one, so if you’re salivating over more Stella Vermillion, then I suggest you get your sights on Rakudai Kishi sooner than later.

There’s always a pleasure in pulling the seal thread by thread, but Sword Art Online shows us that the undressing of the future— when a few clicks of a button can make it all come off— all but loses its tenacity. Virtual reality is the only reality in the world of Sword Art Online; and when Kazuto Kirigaya (nicknamed “Kirito”) logs on to the medieval world of “Aincrad” without a means of logging out, he is left with nothing but to push forward in his new found digital reality. Together with his comrades, including Asuna Yuuki leader of the guild Knights of the Blood, they fight for their survival and fight to make their way through all 100 levels of the game unscathed, for if they die in SAO, they die in the real world also. Asuna is perfection. Bigger isn’t always better, and Asuna is my exhibit ‘A’. Giving us more of the petite side of things— despite being extremely pretty— Asuna may not have the greatest sex appeal at first glance; but in truth, this little lady will hoot your horn like none other. Simplicity is the key here as all the fancy ornaments play no part in this delicacy. Exposing her gentle body at episode ten strapped in mere white lingerie will have you just begging for more. So if you’re looking to dip your finger in Asuna’s cake, I suggest you get going with Sword Art Online right away.

What’s the difference between lingerie and a bikini? Is this a question that needs an answer? Probably not, because either way the view is pristine and the message is clear. The message that Mage from Bikini Warriors is one hell of a girl that knows how to rock a two-piece. Pitted against ultimate evil, these four girls; Fighter, Mage, Paladin, and Darkelf, don their incredibly revealing bikini armor and set out to save their world from the unrelenting forces of the malevolent. Too bad they can’t seem to get anything right. Constantly outmatched and lacking in sheer warrior mentality, these four ladies have got a long hill to climb ahead of them. Let’s just be happy that the picture is worth every shot. Especially when you’ve got your sights on Mage. She spends all day in a bikini, but squirms like a shy little jellyfish when exposed in lingerie. The logic here might seem confused, but as an admirer, it’s better to ask less and watch more. Right from episode one, the view is as attractive as watching the last moment of a sunset while perusing in the soothing steam of a hot spring. Mage and her gang of busty ladies make for some of the most lustful scenes that are sure to make you drool.

When High school student Issei Hyoudou is killed after being tricked by a fallen angel, he is soon revived by Rias Gremory —a top of the class devil—as her servant and member of the school’s Occult Research club. Fighting amongst angels and demons alike in the name of survival, Rias and Issei will take you on an action packed, comedy filled, romantic ride through the world of High School DxD. This series isn’t quite for the feeble minded, as it knows how to head straight to the point. But amongst all the overtness, it still manages from time to time to allow us to bask in true beauty. The beauty that is anime lingerie; and Rias Gremory for one, is both stunning without it, and scrumptiously good with it. With her perfectly sculpted body frame, and to die for good looks, it would have been a sin to pass her over for our Top 10 Anime Lingerie list. She is captivating, to say the least, and will have you binge watching High School DxD simply out of obsession. So get watching right away, because I’m sure Rias is just waiting to see you.

With her childlike naivety and innocent character, LaLa Satalin Deviluke is the type of girl that makes you just want to pinch her cheeks. Or better yet, palm them entirely. Are we thinking about the same cheeks here? A story about an alien girl named Lala Satalin Deviluke who crash lands completely naked in the bath of Rito Yuuki. Only to later declare him her true love and set her sights on making him her husband. Tasked with helping Lala conform to human life on earth, as well as defending off alien opposition angered at the news of the two’s misunderstood engagement, both Lala and Rito are spiraled into a world of mischief, harem, and comical entertainment. To Love-Ru is a magnificent series per se, and provides many ladies capable of making this list without question, but Lala, in particular, is truly a work of magic. Topped with luscious pink bubblegum hair, this chewy delicacy is dripping sweet love sap from head to toe. Gravity is a blessing in disguise the way how her figure bounces around throughout each passing episode. Lingerie was designed for girls like Lala, and boy oh boy, do they know how to get along well. Lala Deviluke and anime lingerie; a match made in heaven.

Yuki Nonaka— does it get any better? Strapped up in a presentation to make you slobber, this blue-haired love potion will have your legs weak in seconds. Time after time this feisty little lady will turn you inside out with her hills and canyons; especially, when they’re blanketed over by her savory lingerie. Having a new sister suddenly slapped on to your life may seem out of this world as is, but could you imagine if there were two of them? For high school student Toujo Basara, that imaginative thought is nothing short of the real world as he is paired with two younger sisters, Mio Naruse and Maria Naruse, whom may not actually be what they seem. When his childhood friend Yuki gets involved in the mix, things begin to boil in an interesting and rather ‘ecchi’ way. There are a lot of candidates coming out of Shinmai Maou no Testament that could step up to the plate of best anime lingerie; but let’s face it, Yuki tickles that soft spot like none other. Just wait until she shows off her figure in different angles. Trigonometry has never tasted so good.

Yukiteru Amano, your typical high school student, spends the majority of his days writing in his cell phone diary, conversing with two friends by the name of Murmur and Deus Ex Machina. When Deus bestows upon him a “Random Diary” capable of telling him the future, Yukiteru is forced into a battle royal where he must fight against contestants wielding the same diary until he is the last man standing. Paired with the impulsive and clingy Yuno Gasai, can these two overcome the nightmare that is Future Diary? Yuno Gasai; this mixed bag of bolts is a cup of sweet poison just yearning for someone to take a sip. While she may seem like your model student, lurking behind that beautiful and smart girl façade is an obsessive, murderous, loose cannon. However, pain is certainly a pleasure, because seeing her in a state of undress will make you flip. With a slim cut figure, her lingerie fits right where it needs to be. Resembling something of a Victoria’s Secret model. However, the real challenge is finding out how long you can last in bed with her. Alive, that is.

When Simon and Kamina come across an ancient artifact of war, far off in their underground village of Jeeha, a surprise attack from those of the “surface” force these two to learn how to defend themselves in mere moments. Luckily for them, not only did they have this newly found weapon, but also, the unexpected help of the redhead Yoko Littner. Together, the three of them head to the world above in search of what has been made of humanity on the surface. Maybe, however, what they come to find isn’t quite what they’d expected. A girl who’s got it all. From pin-point accuracy to magnificent looks, and a hot-blooded demeanor. The way her body just… flows is likened to a calming creek rifting through a beautiful garden in mid-spring. After watching episode 6 uncut, there’s certainly no way Yoko would have missed this list of Top 10 Anime Girls in Lingerie, for when she’s exposed in her undergarments, the term anime lingerie sets a new standard. A barely clothed beauty in a mecha, sci-fi adventure laced with action. There’s an essence to this girl that just can’t be spoken upon, but once you catch wind of it, you’ll know what we’re talking about for sure.

After Japan falls to what is known as the “Apocalypse Virus”, and become subject to the rule of the GHQ, Shu Ouma, a member of the opposition group Funeral Parlor, fights to help take back what was lost. After obtaining an ability known as the “Power of Kings”, granting him the capability of drawing out an individual’s “void”, Shu works to rid Japan of the GHQ, as well as unveil the many secrets that surround both it and the dreaded event known as “Lost Christmas”; but can he handle the repercussion of his actions? A friend of Shu, Hare Menjou is one hell of a beauty; and when she shows off her sweet frame, the room falls silent. You can only truly admire her work of art when surrounded by serenity and calmness. With her soft character and delicate appearance, Hare will make you fall in love over and over again. Staring down her magnificent frame, fitted in a pair of panties and a thin bra, will make you think nothing short of copulating. Not to mention the fact that she has the heart of a warrior till the very end. Who wouldn’t consider that the perfect gal? Hare Menjou, you’re the real MVP.

The onset of this countdown is going to bring us straight to episode two of the anime. Approximately eleven minutes in we get to the point where Ako Tamaki decides to swing by Hideki Nishimura’s class and greet him by the only way Ako knows how, by referring to him as his in-game character name “Rusian.” Initially taken back by Ako’s greeting, Nishimura is quick to downplay his Rusian name to his friends, stating that he doesn’t know anyone by that name. Ako remains persistent and continues to refer to him as Rusian, much to the dismay of Nishimura and Segawa. An innocent greeting now leads to an even bigger problem, for most notably Nishimura. Now irritated, Nishimura asks what Ako wants and she simply replies that she didn’t get enough time to spend with him last night. Needless to say, that reply caught the attention of the entire class. What now turned into a simple misunderstanding has Nishimura searching for answers. Before he could truly explain himself, his friend asks what their relationship is and Ako replies that Rusian is her husband. Oh yes, she went there! We feel your pain, Nishimura!

Moving right along to our next favorite moment, we come across the debut episode roughly sixteen minutes into the anime. The episode builds up to this landmark meeting between the newly formed guild called “The Alley Cats.” Nishimura has essentially written off the idea that there are female gamers that play “LA” which stands for Legendary Age. During one online meeting with the guild, he is assured that Ako and Apricot are indeed girls. This leads to an offline meet up where the fun begins. After Nishimura comes to the realization that his entire guild consists of “real-life girls” they head to a restaurant as their first commemorative offline party. One of the reasons that make this scene great is Ako’s inability to call Nishimura anything but Rusian and her supremely clingy behavior. She’s simply fascinated by the fact that Nishimura is a living, breathing, warm-blooded human being. Another solid moment is during the introductions when Segawa is reluctant to say her character name “Schwein.” Kyou is quick to remind her that it’s German for pig, much to the chagrin of Segawa. The best part about this scene is when the rest of the guild recognizes that Segawa has a “normie” persona at school. Both Kyou and Ako go in a twisted trance and want to eliminate Segawa because they hate “normies.” Their faces and movements are to be feared, but it’s also very comical!

A cultural festival was brought to the club's attention from the club advisor Yui Saitou. They wanted to do something special to show what they’ve accomplished for the time they’ve been together. What better way than to take part in the “Siege Warfare” that takes advantage of the PvP (Player vs. Player) update. All they would have to do is survive the guild-on-guild action and claim their stake as the winners of Siege Warfare. Easy enough right? Later on, we will explain why it wasn’t. As for the reason that this is number eight on our list, we’d have to go midway through episode ten during their preparations for battle. The highlights come when Kyou takes to the battlefield. She first clashes with Segawa but makes a critical error and miscalculates the AoE (Area of Effect) of her “Meteor” spell. This leads to her getting thrashed by Segawa. This is followed by Nishimura amusingly launching his shield at her repeatedly. Kyou is thwarted once again. Finally, she takes on Ako, but falls to Ako’s “Skill Seal” magic and staff attack. Kyou was initially portrayed to be the strongest as the guild leader with the highest stats, but she was shown otherwise. It’s generally not right to make light of someone else’s failures, but in this case, it’s worth a laugh.

Continuing on this reflection of some of the best character moments in Netoge. We come to the beginning of episode five where Ako asks the club if they could play a different game. Something that’s “exhilarating.” Kyou brings up a FPS (First Person Shooter) game by the name of “Ultra Force.” Obviously, this is unknown territory for the group. To get Ako in the spirit of shooting her enemies Kyou suggests that Ako treats the enemies as if they were normies. From then on, Ako is revitalized with the heart of a lion and is ready to take on all challengers. If nothing else she would provide motivation for the entire guild to try and overcome a new challenge. Immediately loading into the map, we get a scene of all the characters in different roles, as well as a tight shot of Kyou’s ample assets. Their inexperience instantly leads them to disaster as Kyou shoots her “self-destructive bazooka” and it takes out five people, including herself and Segawa. Now pinned down, Nishimura finds himself seconds away from certain death. From a building far away, Ako surprisingly gives him support in the form of a sniper rifle. She pulls off three consecutive headshots and wins the game for them. Who would have thought Ako would have such precision?

This next moment came as a big shock to some people. Nekohime is this adorable female character in Legendary Age that turned down Nishimura’s advancements early in the anime. Nekohime told him that he was a male posing as a female character. Later on, we find out that Ako went behind Nishimura’s back and arranged an offline meeting with someone. Naturally, that got Nishimura’s attention and when he arrived at the scene he found out that not only was Nekohime the one Ako was standing with, but Nekohime is a female and a teacher at their school. Towards the end of episode three, we see a confrontation between Ako and Saitou. Yes, that’s right, a student and teacher ‘battle.’ To defend her husband’s previously hurt emotions, Ako comically proceeds to pull out a life-size replica of her staff she carries in-game and tries to whack Saitou with it. She charges with all her might but all she ends up getting is a devastating clothesline that knocks Ako right off her feet. Despite Ako’s good intentions, it probably wasn’t best for her to take on her sensei like that. Regardless, this moment proved to be pivotal in both character and story development. Immediately after that incident, Saitou becomes the club's new advisor.

We’ve reached the midway point of this list and we’ve already come across some great moments. Let’s continue, shall we? Our number five choice brings us a nice and refreshing summer camp approach to episode seven. The club heads to Kyou’s cottage to enjoy the outdoors. With that in mind, Kyou implements a 24 hour no net game policy. The idea is to try and get Ako to enjoy more of the normal things in life, thus potentially being able to regulate both sides of her life properly. The moment gets started not too long after Segawa and Kyou show up in cute swimwear after the arrival of Ako. Kyou notices almost immediately that Nishimura doesn’t have any sunscreen on and she offers to put some on him. Before he could give a good reason not to, the other two girls offer to help as well. What Nishimura gets is a trio of attractive girls using their heavenly hands to rub nearly his entire body with sunscreen. It’s something that we think most males would only dream about, but for some reason, Nishimura was less than content with it. More so, he felt “defiled” after it was all said and done. The girl’s eagerness and swimwear, with Nishimura’s reaction, makes this an enjoyable moment in the series.

This next scene is a real doozy. This awkward but amusing moment appears in episode five a little more than fifteen minutes in. Nishimura travels to Ako’s house to see what she is up to. He’s greeted by Ako’s mother who has a striking resemblance to her daughter. If it wasn’t for the age difference, they could get away with being twins. He receives the key to Ako’s room shortly after Ako’s mother takes off for work. Nishimura then swiftly heads in the direction of Ako’s room and knocks to let her know that he wants to see her. Ako, shocked that he’s standing outside her door tells him “now isn’t a good” ― before she could finish the line, Nishimura inserts the key and opens the door. To his astonishment, he has Ako within arm’s reach in nothing but her pink bra and underwear. What’s most indecent about this is the fact that it wasn’t even securely on her body. Well, due to the awkwardness he exits the room and waits for Ako to get herself ready. When he receives the clearance to come back in, she’s now completely naked on her knees telling him to “be gentle.” Woah, what a sight! There’s no doubt they had different intent. However you want to look at it, this one will be a standout for this series.

This next choice essentially spans the entirety of episode twelve. It’s during the aforementioned Siege Warfare. Now for this selection, we are going to mention several different parts that happened throughout the episode due to the length of the battle. There wasn’t just one moment after all; it was a collection of moments. With that in mind, we’re going to start with the formation of the “Stray Cat-Princess Elite Guard “and the battle between the high-ranked Wallenstein guild who had previously turned their backs on the Alley Cats in a previous episode. The Wallenstein guild was pushing towards the throne and Nanako did the most honorable thing she could do. She distracted the four remaining members to focus their skills on her, killing Nanako instantly. Nanako wasn’t the only one who played an important role as Ako stood in front of a shield stun to save Kyou. Finally, the last line of defense was Kyou who was constantly being attacked by Bats, the leader of Wallenstein. Yet he couldn’t penetrate her defense because she used a 10 million coin item 487 times to make sure that she didn’t lose. Ultimately it was worth it in her eyes as the club did end up getting that commemorative photo for their cultural festival.

This next scene brings a lot to the table, including laughs, sexuality, a cell phone and net game lingo. It all comes together nicely to form our number two selection. The scene has the four girls spend the night at Kyou’s immense mansion. It gives Ako a chance to be away from Nishimura, despite her pleas against it. The girls jump into the bath around 14 minutes into episode nine. Initially, Ako is reluctant to get into the bath with everyone else but she later realized that she had her “first time” with Segawa at a camp. The “first time” she was referring to was not sex, but bathing with someone else. While in the bath Segawa starts to feel overwhelmed in the presence of three busty beauties. Addressing this to all three of them, they end up referencing net games to convey their message about the sizeable differences between their breasts to Segawa’s. This comes complete with a droll delivery from Segawa “I don’t have enough materials to make that item.” The final shenanigan to come out of this bath scene was a discussion about what body type Nishimura liked the best. Ako decided to video chat him, much to ire of her company. That produces a naked scramble that leads them outside. If only Nishimura knew was he was missing!

After plenty of thought, Honey’s Anime decided on episode eight of the anime, when Nishimura gets his Legendary Age login compromised. It’s a telling story about teamwork and eventual triumph for the club, both in-game and in real life. Luckily for Nishimura, Ako was able to quickly identify that it wasn’t Nishimura and whatever sufferable advances the hacker made on Ako was discarded. Naturally, after an incident like that, they would want him to get his account back, so the club worked together to do so. The Black Magician offered some help by giving the guild a URL to the swindler’s blog. On there he relishes at what he did to Nishimura. The club devises a master plan that went above and beyond to make sure justice was served. After countless days creating a similar blog and writing fabricated posts dating several years back, the club was able to attract his attention. From there they baited that miscreant into an RMT (Real Money Trade) that is illegal in Legendary Age. With all the evidence against this spiteful player, he was banned. The determination and large payoff are what made this a superb episode and our favorite moment of the series.

Most often when we do these countdowns we like to kick things off with a bang. This number 10 selection fits that bill to a tee. There’s no need to blink or rub your eyes, you are indeed reading that title correctly. If you’re familiar with this series you know that god made an appearance in episode four. Hane initiated contact with him at the side of the road. God has made several appearances throughout this anime but we felt his appearance in the final episode was his best. In an episode featuring many absurd events, the one we want to highlight has the motorcycle club looking for magazines in “Tatsuya Book & CD.” Hane finds God at the checkout and notices that he’s buying the “VIBE” magazine. She thought VIBE was for females because there are generally women on the cover. Little does the naïve one know that it’s a sexy magazine with naked females straddling bikes. She takes a look through it and to her astonishment finds a pinup model and twice mentions that she sees her pubic hair. God simply slaps her around a few times and pays for his smut. Once you get past the initial shock, laughter quickly takes over this moment.

During episode eight Hijiri is happy because her birthday is coming up and soon she will be able to ride a motorbike on her own. She shocked the club by announcing that she already has a motorcycle license. She was able to obtain one by simply using her wealth to purchase one in a foreign country. All she had to do was take a rewrite in Japan and she got it reissued to her. Realizing that she didn’t know what a yellow traffic light meant, Onsa cut up her license right before her very eyes. Hayakawa bought her a Honda Super Cub from Onsa’s father. It was said to be easier than riding a bicycle but that didn’t improve Hijiri’s confidence any. Sadly, she wasn’t able to ride a bicycle either, at that time. Hijiri with little confidence wiped out several times trying to ride the bike, including a failed attempt at getting on the Super Cub. Finally, she put some gas to it and she flew down a flight of steps only to flip the bike and land head-first on the ground. Frustration clearly at a boiling point, she got up with a look of malice on her face and proceeded to take a sledgehammer to the bike! To her surprise, the bike still worked after the beating it received.

After a fun-filled adventure exploring the roads with their bikes, the girls spotted a hot spring connected to the ocean. Onsa and Rin had their reservations about the whole idea, due to it being visible from the outside but also because it was a mixed gender spring. Despite their hesitant nature, the girls got in after seeing Raimu, Hane and Hijiri take the plunge. It never felt so liberating being a delinquent some of them urged. The scene really starts to pick up after Rin moves to the ocean side and bends over at the side of the spring. Rin, the curviest female of the group certainly becomes the stand-out of this scene, much to her dismay. While she’s bent over enjoying the situation, Hane points out that she has something on her left butt cheek. It turns out to be a Suzuki logo, naturally. The group was under the impression that it was there purposely, but oh no, Rin tells a tale of how she received it. Episode four delivers a fun story about Rin and her father riding a bike and they get into an accident that sends a young Rin comically flying in the air and landing on a steaming hot Suzuki hood logo on a car, thus permanently branding her.

This next quirky selection is from episode nine towards the end of the show. The motorcycle club has returned for another year of school and they’re eager as ever to convince new students to join the club. They quickly realize it’s not an easy task to get students who don’t know anything about motorbikes to join a club with them. The club, after all, is a little daunting for newcomers because they should have some knowledge of bikes. In addition to that, have a license so they can ride together and do group activities. The motorcycle club devises a plan to perform an awe-inspiring showcase of everything that is great about riding motorbikes. Orientation comes along and the pressure is on for these girls. What they come up with is one of the silliest (but hilarious) moments from the entire series. The four girls walk on stage with bike handlebars and proceed to sing and dance while explaining how to ride a bike. Needless to say, the majority of the audience laughs at their spirited performance, with Rin getting the most pleasure out of it. Chisame tries to redeem the club, but even her serious explanation of bikes on stage fails miserably. All in all, this was a great scene.

In the debut episode of this series it follows one of the main characters Hane, riding her bike to school up a tremendously steep hill. After seeing others riding their motorbikes, Hane later meets up with Raimu. Raimu gives Hane a test ride and she quickly falls in love with the experience. She then decides that it’s in her best interest to get her own bike and license. This is where our next great moment comes to us at. The first major test for Hane is to stand up the fallen bike to its normal position. At first, she fails, but she tries again and accomplishes this by receiving helpful tips from, get this, the motorbike itself. The bike comes installed with a trainer voice named Baita, who assists newcomers. Baita is a female and helps aid Hane in the most curious of ways. She often tells stories about giving her body up to men or having their crotches in her face. She even explains to Hane, to treat her bike the way she would treat a man. She’s a unique and amusing personality that eventually becomes one of the catalysts for Hane passing her test.

Let’s keep going on this wonderful ride as we come to episode five. For motorbike owners out there, have you ever had the urge to wear your swimwear and cover yourself in soap, only then to rub your body on your bike? I’m willing to bet a lot of you would answer with an emphatic no. Well, this is exactly what happened during episode five. The girls are proud owners of their bikes and rightfully so, but some felt that your typical bucket and cloth wasn’t enough to do it justice. After a long and hectic adventure to Hokkaido the girls made it back in one piece, so what better time than to clean the dirt off the motorbikes. Onsa elects to take a more traditional route, whereas Hane gets this “brilliant” idea to use her body for more coverage. Naturally, Rin catches a glimpse of it and her competitive nature sparks up and she finds herself equaling Hane’s effort to clean. This scene provides us with more than enough fan service and it’s sure to get some hearts racing by the end of it. Raimu is the last to finish up on her bike and immediately after doing so, it rains. That concludes a witty ending to an eye-catching scene.

Back to episode eight we go with another fantastic moment from Bakuon!! This time, the moment takes place during the second half of the episode, where they focus more on the Christmas holiday. The motorcycle club has a Christmas get together which includes the usual, such as, food, decorations and gift giving. Onsa receives a rather narcissistic gift from Rin. It turns out to be a handmade doll of Rin riding her Suzuki GSX400S Katana much to Onsa’s disappointment. During Onsa’s tirade over how self-absorbed Rin is, she drops the present destroying the doll. More specifically, the head falls off! The thoughtful but often dim-witted Hane lends a helping hand and fixes the problem by gluing the head back on and reinforcing it with tape. Everyone around is skeptical about the repair done by Hane, most notably Onsa, who seems to think it’s a rather ominous look with that tape around the dolls neck. Hane catches up with Rin who was out delivering pizza and hands her a gift, since she missed the gift exchange. Rin opens it to find that it’s a lovely pink scarf. Rin puts it on and as Hane bikes away she realizes the irony of the taped up doll and said scarf. It leads Hane to wonder if it’s a bad omen. It turns out it was great luck for Rin and terrible luck for Hane.

Just like the previous selection, we’re going back to yet another episode we have touched up on. That would be episode five, the one that delivers the most fan service in the entire series. This scandalous scene took place prior to the bike wash during their stay in Hokkaido. The girls met up with Saruko Saruyama unknowingly. She is a teacher from their school. Saruko was deeply gazing off into the sea, when all of a sudden she disappears briefly only to reappear on a bike trying to bike-dive off Cape Soya. Ultimately the teacher failed and she received assistance from the motorcycle club. Saruko was very much distressed and the girls could sense it. They all stayed together at the “Shimizu Inn.” During this time Saruko confessed she had been dumped recently by her thirteenth boyfriend and love was getting her nowhere. Obviously, she was emotional and drank enough alcohol to get her in a frisky mood. Once Hane passes out from the smell of Saruko’s alcohol, she tries to take advantage of Hane. Saruko lifts up her shirt to nearly expose her breasts and when the club tries to stop her, she turns her attention onto them. She pounces on Onsa taking her shirt off and follows that up by offering to lick Hijiri’s feet. Finally, she gets to Rin and takes her shirt off and tugs at her pants. This prompts Hane to say that alcohol is a scary thing. In this case, it sure was.

We’re down to our number two selection from this list. It comes by way of episode seven of this fun anime. The motorcycle club was to provide an optimal experience and showcase their very own bike race. This included several laps around the school. As the race is about to start, we’re introduced to the MC, “The Evil Queen Veda, Hijirian.” Hijiri didn’t take part in the race but was instrumental in creating the track and more specifically the “Panel That Somehow Cools Your Engine When You Go Over It.” Right out of the gates Raimu takes a nasty spill and she falls to the ground and is knocked out of commission for a good chunk of the race. This provides the other three, Onsa, Hane and Rin to finish before her. However, Raimu eventually gets back up and her skill and experience get her back in the race. She effortless gains all the ground she lost while she was down and it becomes a tight race. This is where that panel finally comes into play. Throughout the race, the girls avoided using it, much to the dismay of Hijiri. During the final stretch, Raimu goes over it and it freezes her engine sending her flying in the air once again. She gets blasted with such force that she almost won the race! It was a hilarious moment in the series and you almost have to feel bad for Raimu.

We’ve come up with a spectacular list that has now brought us to our number one character moment in Bakuon!! This comes courtesy of episode eleven. The girls are introduced to a hardcore cyclist that claims that bicycles are better than motorbikes. He’s determined more than ever to prove it to them. Long story short, he wipes out and ends up on the back of Hijiri’s family owned limousine. The next day Rin and Onsa head to school via the train because it’s raining and it’s not ideal for their bikes to be out in that kind of weather. While on the train both Rin and Onsa pass out and during this, Rin drools and drops some of her saliva on Onsa’s hand. This provides a wake-up call for Onsa who ends up licking the saliva off her hand, thinking it was her own. This causes Onsa to feel sick and misses school due to her newly diagnosed “Suzukiphilia.” Rin visits her at her house and she catches her about to lick a motorbike. This radical behavior also included Onsa becoming obsessed with Suzuki, just like Rin. Onsa’s family eventually got her back to normal by using the “death by praise” idea. It was a bittersweet moment for Rin, who wasn’t exactly sure how to take it all in.
