For the times when you want your hentai to have some semblance of a plot line, there are series like Shinmai Maou no Testament. Okay, it's not actually hentai, but the second season certainly pushes the boundary between ecchi and the video store's 18+ section. Although sharing many similarities with High School DxD, instead of […]

Introduction [naughty spoilers ahead]

Keita Sumione, like a lot of people, is part of a blended family. When Keita is around 5 years old his father remarries and he becomes the younger brother (by a year) to twin sisters. We fast-forward a decade and the five family members, mom, dad, Keita, Ako and Riko all live a very happy suburban life. The family is very loving and extremely affectionate and because this is an ecchi anime that affection is taken up one or two notches; okay, maybe 10 notches. Keita’s sisters, Ako and Riko, like to tease their brother. We know that siblings tease each other; it’s just part of being a family. The teasing these sisters have in mind is a lot more than putting a rubber bug in their brother’s shoe. The twins take their brocon obsession of their step-brother to the next level in this ecchi comedy that only needs to take a small step before it crosses that thin line between ecchi and hentai.

5. Episode 8

Yuuzuki Kiryuu is Keita’s homeroom teacher, and rather young and innocent one. We learn that she is a closet otaku and a virgin. She starts out being concerned for Keita and the girls he’s around, namely his sisters. Kiryuu thinks that Keita is having an immoral relationship with not only his sisters, but multiple other girls, including her own younger sister. She decides to do a home visit. We know where this is going, correct? The other members of his family, parents and sisters are all delayed in coming home so it is just the two of them, teacher and student. Keita leaves his teacher in his room, who then roots around in it looking for porn. Keita returns seeing his teacher looking at his stash of dirty magazines causing such a state of shock that it causes him to spill their drinks, a thick viscus substance, all over the place. The sticky goo covers the floor as well as the young teacher’s face and blouse. You don’t have to think very hard to determine what they are insinuating in that illustration. The sexy young teacher then uses the shower at the student’s home (yes, we know that would never really happen), and fantasizes about the student. She returns to her student wearing only a towel and panties and ends up on top of the student on the bed. You don’t have to have an over-active imagination to see what awkward grinding might ensue and the reason this is number 5 on our list of top ecchi moments.

4. Episode 4

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B00WR10HR6" text="" url="" ]

We watch anime, so we know all about the hijinks that happen on a hot springs trips. Now consider a hot springs trip through the lens of this anime, in which two of the three people involved are actively trying to get in the pants of the third. You ready? We shall now begin. Keita, Riko and Ako head to a hot springs inn as a family bonding experience. Keita is weary of what his older sisters have in mind when they say “bonding.” He is right to be worried. We start off with the three taking a dip in the outdoor bath, a bath much smaller than you’d expect for three people. Ako sets out to roofie her brother by spiking his drink. He shares the drink with Riko, who abruptly passes out leaving an affected Keita with a sober Ako. (Just for the record roofieing someone is wrong and illegal and we at Honey’s Anime don’t endorse or condone any illegal behavior.) Taking advantage of the situation, Ako convinces Keita that the hot springs waters are healthy to drink and that he should drink it off her body. Keita proceeds to drink the water from her chest and then as he’s just about to head south and drink from Ako’s eternal spring he passes out. We won’t synopsize the entire episode but here’s a tease to keep you tuned in: you get to hear Ako exclaim “Kei-chan’s dick just slapped me.”

3. Episode 0

[sourceLink asin="4063754286" asin_jp="" text="" url="" ]

We’ve all had this problem at one time or another, we wake up and our arm or leg is still asleep because we slept on it awkwardly. The same thing happens to Keita in episode 0, except he didn’t sleep on his arms funny, Ako and Riko did. Ako decides that because Riko is still unconscious and Keita can’t move his arms this might be the perfect time for her to make out with him. We watch the cute Ako, clad in pink pajamas, straddle her step-brother and begin to tease him, grinding her hips against him until she decides to kiss him good morning. She kisses him very deeply as we watch the exchange of spit and tongue letting us know it isn’t the normal sibling relationship. Ako is called by their mother to help make breakfast and leaves Riko, who was pretending to be asleep, with a still semi-paralyzed Keita and his visible morning wood. Riko decides to pick up where her sister left off and straddles Keita and begins kissing him and squeezing his excitement through his shorts. We get a lot of little moans and suggestion in this opening scene, enough to set the make us uncomfortable and set the stage for a really raunchy comedy.

2. Episode 7

kissxsis-wallpaper
[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B003RIU66K" text="" url="" ]

We begin with a classic romantic scene for anime. The hero, Keita, is walking home in the rain with an umbrella in hand. He comes across a female classmate, Mikazuki Kiryuu (his teacher’s younger sister) taking shelter from the rain under an overhang and offers to share his umbrella. The boy gets splashed by a passing truck and the girl offers to dry his clothes for him if he comes into her home -- so he does. You think this situation would be nice and sweet until you remember the universe we are in and find that the sweet little girl with twin tails is a huge pervert also obsessed with her Keita-sempai. Do you remember that moment in the first American Pie movie when the sweet girl starts off with “one time at band camp…?” Well, Mikazuki informs Keita that she’d offer him milk tea, but she’s out of milk and would like to use his milk instead. You get the same kind of initial shock before you remember that this is the norm for this show. Keita, being the straight man, of course says “what is your guest going to drink then?” and she replies “my love juice” then proceeds to show him a diagram of a 69 position, with the subtitle Recycle & Ecology. The jokes just get more blush-worthy from there, leaving you to clearly understand that this scene, despite not having the twins in it, is number 2 on our list of ecchi moments.

1. Episode 3

kissxsis-wallpaper
[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B003RIU67E" text="" url="" ]

Ako and Riko decide to clean their brother’s room -- and by clean we mean snoop -- and come across a porn magazine in Keita’s gym bag. The porn they discover is titled “Slut Sister X 2.” The girls are shocked and intrigued by the meaning of that kind of porn in their brother’s possession. Ako finds herself alone with the magazine and for the first time thinking about sharing her brother with Riko at the same time. When Riko catches her in the act, the two come up with a plan to test out what it would be like to share their stepbrother; the plan involves a body pillow, a marker and a teddy bear. The two girls take their positions astride the home made sex toy and try some hip thrusts eliciting small embarrassed moans. The two begin to feel each other up noticing the changes arousal makes to their bodies until their raging teenage hormones run wild and they both collapse back on the bed. The two exhausted girls then refer to it as a “nice rehearsal” and look forward to trying it with Keita as soon as he will let them, making that the number 1 ecchi scene in a show packed with ecchi content.

Conclusion

We got to watch a series that took us right up to that thin line separating ecchi comedy with anime porn. We as viewers don’t always need the artist to show us everything. We can just fill in the gaps with our active imaginations. The writers of Kiss x Sis filled the series with clichés and fantasies that fill a young man’s head as evident from the magazines about naughty teachers, twins and imuotos that Keita has stashed around his room. We know this is far from real life; only a weird and truly perverted part of our psyche that we lock away in the dungeon of our subconscious envies Keita. We know it’s only a fantasy and that’s okay; that’s why so many of us watch anime.

Hopefully he can see the benefits in grabbing people's attention when February 14th comes swinging around in episode 37, because there's no better feeling than someone handing you a box full of chocolate. Unfortunately, our favorite characters in Saiki K. will have spend the day, instead, dodging their daily mishaps amidst some sick minded, well planned, good ol’ pranks. Just remember, if you live in the world of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. then you'd best not get your hopes too high, because if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Misery loves company, and soon Risa and Atsushi find themselves becoming close to one another. But at a meager 156 centimeters, can these two truly manage? Crossing paths with schoolmate Taiga Aisaka; best friend of Minori, and prone to having a feisty attitude, Ryuuji finds himself at the butt end of her negative attitude. However, when Ryuuji realizes that Taiga has a crush on his best friend; Yuusaku Kitamura, it seems necessary that they place their dislike for one another aside and help each other accomplish their goals. Touching base with the journey through life, and how that affects us and the ones we love. Exploring the nature of friendship, or maybe something that’s a bit more. Illustrating the mind of an individual that is in the balance between taking a life changing leap of faith, and an opportunity missed. Toradora episode 23 reminds us that it isn’t about the chocolate when it comes to Valentine’s Day, but the acknowledgement of someone that we love; be it friend, family, or partner. This is a beautiful tale, and goes without saying that it is a must watch for this heart sharing time of year.

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: Jun. 2005 – Sep. 2005

She is now Kamichu; a middle school goddess, and with the help of her friends Mitsue Shijo, and Matsuri Saegusa, Yurie’s life of school exams and secret crushes, is now one of holiness, spirits, and many more. No big deal. Goddess or not, we all need to share our love with someone; and with Valentine’s Day creeping around the corner in episode 15, now is the best time of all. This well pieced together episode of Kamichu! feels like a page right out of a hall of fame book of anime romance pieces. It traverses from scene to scene like a calm river. Pedaling through every minute, as it brings us a natural flow of laughs, enjoyment, and of course, romance. Apparently, being a middle school deity isn’t so much about divinity as it is about being a human being.

4. Himouto! Umaru-chan

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B0117NXULE" text="" url="" ]
  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: Jul. 2015 – Sep. 2015

Top of the class, beautiful, model high school student; Umaru Doma, isn’t all that she’s cracked up to be. Like a split personality at the flip of a switch, once she touches home base, this girl gets straight to work. Being a lazy otaku mess, that is. Cloaked in her orange hamster hoodie, she has no intentions of making herself useful. But, thanks to her caring and responsible brother; Taihei, Umaru won’t have to worry about ever picking up her own slack. What a life. As episode 9 of Himouto! Umaru-chan commences, we are treated with the disoriented thoughts of girls preparing for that time of year when they must wear their hearts on their sleeves; Valentine’s Day. For some looking to make sure that their deepest feelings are felt, the handoff is only half the job, as the real effort is in the art of homemade chocolate. Eager to lace every square inch with love, they waste not even a moment getting down to work as we drool over the holiday pastries that anime preps with such mouthwatering visuals. If only Anime could be our date for Valentine’s Day. All our worries would be gone.

2. My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!)

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B013QOEW96" text="" url="" ]
  • Episodes: 24
  • Air Date: Apr. 2015 – Sep. 2015

At first sight, Takeo Gouda may seem more of a machine than an actual human being, but as it goes, he is nothing more than a normal high school freshman. Shrouded by a tall height and bodybuilder frame, Takeo is actually quite the kind-hearted individual. Unfortunately, everyone judges a book by its cover in the world of Ore Monogatari, and Takeo can’t seem to find a girl that can look past his intimidating appearance. After saving Rinko Yamato from an attacker, Takeo instantly falls in love an ironically positions himself as her acting cupid. Trying to read through the person we secretly have a crush on is a daunting, impossible; to be honest, a task that often plagued most of our high school years whenever we had a crush. That’s why sitting back and watching Takeo suffer through that very same phase in life, in hopes of unlocking the secret towards squeezing out a valentine’s day gift from the person he cares for the most, is so damn entertaining to watch. Episode 20 of Ore Monogatari is quirky, interesting, and just plain weird. All the reason to make you want to watch it sooner than later. We may even learn something useful in the process; for example, it isn’t just about the chocolates on Valentine’s Day, right? Or is it?

1. Kimi ni Todoke: From Me To You 2 (Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season)

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B004SKSKH8" text="" url="" ]
  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: Jan. 2011 – Mar. 2011

Sawako Kuronuma lives in a world in which her intentions are often misconstrued in interpretation. As kind and sweet-hearted as she may be, her classmates often interpret her as malicious and liken her appearance to the ghost of “The Ring” films, winning her the nickname “Sadako”. Carrying out most of her days in solitude, Sawako one day happens across Shouta Kazehaya, whom she develops an attraction towards. As the most popular guy in class, this doesn’t come as a surprise; but when Shouta begins talking to Sawako, she finally sees a path open towards a dream come true. Love is like a copilot that can’t seem to keep itself in second place. Constantly taking control of the wheel to your life and sending you on a circus ride into god knows where. Sawako is also suffering from this loss of control now that love is in the way, and she can’t seem to shake the tendency to favor the man she secretly loves. The simple thought of putting too many heart shaped nuts on some valentine’s chocolate triggers a manic fit of over thinking her own actions. Effectively doing what she’d been going crazy over in the first place; thinking too much about Shouta. However, someway, somehow, we can all relate to this odd, complex predicament; and thus, Kimi ni Todoke season 2 episode 1 makes for a fantastic way to spend a Valentine’s Day rewinding back to the awkward quirks of our first thrust into the world of young love.

Final Thoughts

We hope that these anime episodes have managed to bring a spark of something great into your lives. Based on a visual novel with multiple romance routes, the anime adaptation spends a few episodes of the series on each girl and their romance with main character Kasugano Haruka. Shortly after their parents pass away, Haruka decides that he and his sister Sora will return to their hometown, which they haven’t lived in for many years. Sora has been sick since birth and lived a sheltered life, but having nowhere else to turn, the two must make the most of things. Upon their return, Haruka is met with new romantic entanglements with various girls he has met in his youth, and must come to terms with his own feelings about even his own sister. As a show in the omnibus format for its 12 episodes, a few tackle the relationship between the siblings Haruka and Sora. As with everywhere else, incest is taboo in Japan, and the series was a point of interest for Japanese regulatory committees. However, they deemed the show to not be harmful and did not suspend sales as has happened with other series approaching the subject. At its core, Yosuga no Sora is about belonging. Each of the girls has something they’re missing, as does Haruka, and together, they compliment each other. In typical anime fashion, these events lead to sensual results. More than just ecchi, Yosuga no Sora is borderline hentai, almost crossing the line. Here are our top 5 scenes from this emotional and steamy series.

5. Kazuha x Akira - Episode 2

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="B004LVPEQE" text="" url="" ]

In school, the princess-like Migiwa Kazuha can always be seen dragging along the playful and aloof Amatsume Akira. The two have been together since early childhood, and Kazuha dotes on Akira like a strict elder sister. Both of these girls have their own circumstances that lend for some emotional resolutions, but before they each encountered the protagonist, Haruka, they had to fend emotionally for themselves. To the onlooker, it would seem that this yearning for each other’s warmth manifested itself physically, as Haruka would come to deduce. Tasked with cleaning the pool during another hot summer at the school, Akira lets loose and blasts Kazuha with a hose, dousing her blouse and revealing her bra. Embarrassed due to her indiscretion, she drags Kazuha to the changing room to “clean her up”. Haruka discovers that Kazhua has lost her phone in the commotion and seeks to return it. Happening upon the girls locker room, Haruka would hear the pleasured moans of the two embracing in what they thought was perfect seclusion. The two always had a close physical relationship, but what Haruka hears inside is a shocking revelation in more ways than one. Granted, it was more innocent in actuality than it sounded, but seeing Haruka’s imagination run wild is a very risque ecchi scene for the audience.

4. Migiwa Kazuha Confession - Episode 4

The ice-cold beauty, Migiwa Kazuha, was raised by her family to be the perfect heiress of their esteemed name. She has a strict schedule devoted to improving her sensibilities as a lady, far different from the duties of her classmates. Her family is also linked in some way to her close childhood friend Amatsume Akira. Haruka begins to understand that there is more than meets the eye to this beautiful young girl, and her circumstances are intensely complicated. But still, he is drawn to her, and together, the two work out her situation and come to a resolution. Finally able to accept her responsibilities, her family, and herself, she and Haruka share a tender embrace as the two move forward together. The day of the much anticipated town festival arrives, and with its ending, Haruka and Kazuha steal away to confirm their love for each other. Throughout the series, it has been hinted at just how sensual a body Kazuha has, but in this full-on sex scene with Haruka, she is completely laid bare. As the first sex scene of the series, it set the tone for the remainder of the series, and showed the audience that this was not your typical harem ecchi show with a useless protagonist. With their union, Kazuha’s arc ended, and a new chapter branching off from these events would take place.

3. Amatsume Akira Confession - Episode 6

[sourceLink asin="B01N5WSWNW" asin_jp="" text="" url="" ]

Amatsume Akira was always the class clown, a worry-free girl who sought the happiness and satisfaction of others beyond her own needs. Reunited with Haruka, someone she had strong feelings for from childhood, brought back a rush of emotions for her. When Haruka discovers things were not as cheery for her as he remembers, he feels compelled to stay by her side. She lives alone in her Miko shrine, a place reserved for maidens who devote themselves to the will of the gods. She has no family, instead raised by the kindness of the villagers who casually support her as best they can, but it is a lonely existence despite her claiming otherwise. When faced with the possibility of discovering her true parentage, she and Haruka step towards it with courage. In the end, she learns that she was in fact loved, not purely abandoned as she had feared, and as such, is able to move forward. It is after this revelation that she and Haruka realize their feelings for each other and decide to become lovers. Removing her typical Miko garb, she has a slender, small figure. Her playful nature comes out in their wild embrace, as she and Haruka take some incredibly tantalizing positions during their love making. She keeps a beaming smile on her face during the entire encounter, showing that she may in fact be the happiest of all heroines to embrace Haruka, as now she truly feels she finally has someone to belong with after being alone for her entire life. After their act is complete, the two lie in each other’s embrace and pledge their feelings to face the future together.

2. Yorihime Nao Cooking - Episode 8

[sourceLink asin="B01N18FJTO" asin_jp="" text="" url="" ]

Yorihime Nao is a mature, compassionate, bespactled beauty who has been the childhood friend of the twins Haruka and Sora since before they moved away from the village. However, due to circumstances that happened before they left, Sora detests her completely. Haruka and Nao have always been close, and there is an awkward, almost former romance feeling between them whenever they interact. It isn’t until later that the audience discovers why this is and the real reason behind Sora’s hatred of this kind, beautiful young woman is revealed. Despite overcoming his sister’s objections, Haruka invites Nao over to help cook dinner for them. During this event, while his sister is supposedly asleep, he takes Nao in the kitchen, and the two reunite physically after many years. As a sudden, spontaneous event, the two are still in full school uniforms. Nao’s undone blouse reveals her ample bust, which shakes violently as the two share a frantic embrace atop the tatami mats of Haruka’s summer home. They are so enraptured in each other’s embrace that they’re oblivious to the outside world. The smell of their cooking and the loudness of their commotion has stirred Sora, and she is imaginably perturbed by the scene she witnesses upon seeing the two entwined. The elation they feel is not enough to bring their love making to a stop upon realizing they have been discovered. Haruka continues, until his sister forcibly removes Nao from their home. Poor Nao-chan will continue to be hated after this, and Haruka is not off the hook either.

1. Sora - Episode 11

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="4054049192" text="" url="" ]

Begrudgingly feeling that she has been dragged out to the countryside at her brother’s whims, Sora is stuck in a rural wasteland devoid of modern conveniences, all while her brother traipses around romancing this girl and that. For a good portion of the series, Sora herself is just a background character to her brother Haruka’s exploits. He always has to be considerate of her and mindful of her needs, or he is given a nasty reminder at home. As the titular character, Sora is the main heroine of the series, and as such, has the most sex scenes devoted to her. This only increases the awkwardness for the audience, as the two of them are full-on blood related. Throughout the series, we see just how desperately Sora depends on Haruka, and he himself knows this and treasures her deeply. The two of them are at the peak of puberty and the only ones they can rely on left in this world. As a pair, they always seemingly toe the line but never cross it. Until, they finally do. The siblings have had several chances to embrace, but this scene is the one that seals everything. Unable to wait until they fully re-enter their home and lock the door, Haruka thrusts himself on Sora without thinking of the consequences. They are in no position to avoid being discovered when the class representative Kuranaga Kozue and Yorihime Nao open the door to meet them. Sora moans in pleasure as the two onlookers’ faces are warped in disgust. Nao who had harbored strong feelings for Haruka even in this arc, as well as Kozue, who had an unrequited love for him. This sets off a dramatic series of events that marks the two’s end in the village, but puts them on a path to becoming happy together.

Final Thoughts

Yosuga no Sora really raises a lot of questions on what is and what isn’t acceptable when it comes to love. What do people seek from it? how far will they go to find it and to protect it? There’s one small noteworthy objection to the circumstances within every heroine’s arc throughout the series, but the finale is the truest sense of forbidden love. Haruka and Sora came to the village in order to live a life where they could find happiness after having it stolen from them, but in the end, realize that happiness is wherever the two are together. In a sense, that is the truest form of love, but it is up to the audience to decide whether it is right or wrong. Regardless, the show has delivered at the highest caliber of ecchi, reaching past borderline hentai at some points, but never becoming stale.
